It's called a free kick. A quick kick is when the QB punts on 3rd down.

Anytime you fair catch a punt or kickoff, you have the option of taking a free kick at a field goal for 3 points. The defense can not line up on the line of scrimmage like a normal field goal attempt.

Because of the consequences of a miss, this only ever happens at the end of a half or game.
