ARI - RB David Johnson could sit Week 6?

    Source: ESPN.com - Josh Weinfuss

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (back) will be monitored throughout the week, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who added 'there's always a chance' Johnson won't be available in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons due to his back.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on this situation as the week of practice goes on. Johnson's back reportedly locked up on him versus the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5. All Fantasy GMs need to add Chase Edmonds as a handcuff to Johnson or as a player to plug in as a RB2 or flex option if Johnson has to miss some time.

PIT - QB Mason Rudolph in concussion protocol

    Source: ESPN - Brooke Pryor

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph (concussion) was placed in the league's concussion protocol after being removed from the game in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rudolph took a big hit in the game against the Ravens and was replaced by Devlin Hodges. There's no telling how long Rudolph will miss due to this concussion. He'll have to be cleared from the protocol before he gets back out there on the field. Hodges is expected to start in Week 6 against the Chargers.

KC - QB Patrick Mahomes tweaked ankle

    Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle) tweaked his ankle in the Week 5 game Sunday, Oct. 6, but he expects to be OK. 'Just reaggravated it a little bit there in the first half and then got stepped on in the second half,' Mahomes said. 'Obviously it's going to be a little sore tomorrow.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mahomes has been banged up a little this year, going back to the opener against the Jaguars. The Chiefs need to do a better job of protecting him going forward. Mahomes was sacked a season-high four times against the Colts on Sunday night.

NYJ - QB Sam Darnold to undergo tests Tuesday

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (illness) is scheduled to undergo tests Tuesday, Oct. 8, to see if he will be cleared to play in Week 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jets offense hasn't been the same without their franchise quarterback. He should return to the lineup soon. Head coach Adam Gase said Darnold will start if he is cleared.

NYG - RB Saquon Barkley listed as limited

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was limited during practice Monday, Oct. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's unbelievable that Barkley could be back in the near future. Barkley's practice status needs to be monitored closely this week. The Giants play the Patriots on Thursday night.

PIT - Devlin Hodges likely to draw Week 6 start

    Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Devlin Hodges is expected to serve as the starting quarterback in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers while Mason Rudolph (concussion) recovers from the concussion he suffered in Week 5 versus the Baltimore Ravens. QB Paxton Lynch is expected to be elevated from the practice squad to serve as his backup.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Expect the Chargers defense to be in a lot of lineups in Week 6. Hodges is athletic and keeps plays alive but he doesn't have the strongest arm and is limited in the throws he can make and the plays you can call.

LAC - TE Hunter Henry may practice this week

    Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams

Los Angeles Chargers TE Hunter Henry (knee) may try to participate in practice this week and his status for Week 6 is uncertain, according to head coach Anthony Lynn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chargers need more playmakers in the passing game. Getting Henry back would be great. Lynn said Hunter was moving around well while working with trainers last week.

WAS - QB Dwayne Haskins not a starting option

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins will not be a candidate to start in Week 6, according to interim head coach Bill Callahan. QB Case Keenum or QB Colt McCoy will be the starting quarterback against the Miami Dolphins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team has stressed they won't rush Haskins and they need to be patient with his development. If he's not starting against the hapless Dolphins, Haskins may not be starting at anytime in the near future.

CIN - WR A.J. Green to miss at least one more week

    Source: ESPN.com - Ben Baby

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (ankle) will not practice again this week or play in Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens, according to head coach Zac Taylor.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green should be getting closer to a return but there has never been a clear timetable. He's in the final year of his contract so don't expect him to rush back out there if he's not 100 percent. We'll have to wait another week for an update.

BAL - WR Marquise Brown's dealing with minor ankle injury

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens WR Marquise Brown (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in Week 5 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, but head coach John Harbaugh deemed it 'nothing serious' when asked about it Monday, Oct. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown could be limited in practice as he deals with this minor ankle injury. Fantasy GMs can start him as a 'what the heck' flex based on his big-play ability and upside on a weekly basis. It would be nice if his usage was a little more consistent. In each of the last three weeks his targets have gone down (9,7,5).

PHI - RB Jordan Howard taking control of backfield?

Source: Philadelphia Daily News - Les Bowen

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard is trending toward getting the bulk of the carries in the backfield, according to comments made by head coach Doug Pederson.'I think as we go, Jordan has been kind of the lead back the last couple of games, for sure. ... I think moving forward it's kind of going that way. I can't sit here and say that if Miles (Sanders) has the hot hand one day that (Howard) gets more touches, but that's kind of the trend,' Pederson said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Eagles have found a formula for victory with Howard leading the way on the ground. Now, there's going to be plenty of change-of-pace snaps/touches/targets for rookie Miles Sanders but Howard is the battering ram this team needs.

NYJ - TE Chris Herndon not a lock to play Week 6

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets TE Chris Herndon has completed his four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on substance abuse, but head coach Adam Gase told reporters Monday, Oct. 7, that he will need to see Herndon in practice this week before activating him to the 53-man roster.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gase with some likely coach-speak here. Herndon is a weapon the team has been sorely missing....along with QB Sam Darnold. Fantasy GMs need to add the athletic tight end via the waiver wire if he's out there.

ARI - QB Kyler Murray making history

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Mike Jurecki

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is the first player in NFL history with more than 1,300 yards passing and 200 yards rushing through his first five career games, according to AZCardinals.com's Mike Jurecki.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Murray knows the offense well. He's come in and immediately been able to run the scheme true to form. We're excited to see Murray as he gets more comfortable with the pro game and adjusts to the speed and discipline pro defenders play with.

PHI - WR DeSean Jackson nearing return?

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson (abdomen) is 'still rehabbing' and 'going to do more this week,' according to head coach Doug Pederson. However, The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane believes Jackson 'is unlikely' for Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see Jackson's practice reports this week before getting excited about his return. When he gets back out there, Fantasy GMs know that he has plenty of flex appeal as the favorite deep target for Carson Wentz.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles week-to-week

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (quadriceps) suffered a quadriceps injury in Week 5 against the New York Jets and is considered week-to-week, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The veteran back may have to miss some time with this injury. In the meantime, we should see more Miles Sanders as the team's change-of-pace back behind starter Jordan Howard.

JAX - James O'Shaughnessy done for the season

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Jacksonville Jaguars TE James O'Shaughnessy (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers and will miss the remainder of the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

O'Shaughnessy is shut down for the year, so the Jaguars are going to turn to rookie Josh Oliver in his place. The third-round pick out of San Jose State has a ton of athletic ability to go along with a strong work ethic. He can line up all over the formation and runs the full route tree. Oliver needs to work on his blocking to stay on the field all three downs. We'll see Oliver and veteran Geoff Swaim as the TE corps for the Jaguars.

NE - WR Phillip Dorsett week to week

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

New England Patriots WR Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) suffered a minor hamstring injury in Week 5, and he's considered week to week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A hamstring injury is especially devastating for a speedy receiver like Dorsett. It's considered minor but we are unlikely to see Dorsett on Thursday against the Giants. Jakobi Meyers will get more work with Dorsett out.
