my immediate impression of this game?

i can't bet on Kurt Benkert.. i just can't. maybe he proves me wrong on thursday or maybe he finally wins a game for the Falcons this preseason i'm almost sure he will but still i'd rather lose my money betting against Benkert than with him and i have no doubt he will play at least one half if not more.

if the past is any guide, these teams the last few preseasons the Over has hit majority of the time in their 1st preseason game. Their 3rd or 4th defensive units play fuckin flag football out there. wouldnt be surprised if a bad preseason QB like Benkert finally throws his first touchdown in his preseason career. and the QB competition for the Broncos backup job should be interesting between Kevin Hogan, Drew Lock and Brett Rypien. Schaub aint gonna put much effort out there because he knows his backup job is safe no matter what Benkert does

so... Benkert finally had himself a decent game in the preseason and with his first TD pass in the pros just as i predicted. maybe ATL finally gets a win after losing 10 straight preseason games.. as long as Schaub doesnt play haha(note to self: wait until game #3 to maybe play Falcons at home vs Jets).

thought i'd be staring at 0-2 to start off but got a little lucky at the end. i'll take the split. nice concentration by Winfree and he possibly earned a spot on the roster with that play.
