    AFL (Aussie Rules)
Just thought i would post 1-2 AFL tips per week for anyone who is interested.

This week my best bet is West Coast Eagles +31.5 vs St.Kilda Saints. Eagles will be looking forward to being back at home where they play some decent footy. They regain their 2 best players for the match against the unbeaten Saints.
The Saints put in a monster effort in the game of the season last week to topple Geelong and they may feel the pinch on the big spaces of Subiaco.
There are alot of factors in this game the line up for West Coast to be ultra competitive.

This will be the only one i am playing. I was liking Brisbane Lions +20.5 against Geelong Cats aswell, but now there have been about 6 withdrawals from the Cats side which messes everything up. The value is also lost on that game now.

    BET: West Coast Eagles +31.5pts

Thanks guys. Was a good effort by West Coast. They were level at 3/4 time so actually had a chance to win but the Saints kicked a few early goals to kill their chances of winning, but still got the cover. Onto next week!

There were 2 games that caught my eye this week:

Port Adelaide Power vs West Coast Eagles - After West Coast done the job last week i dont think they will put up an effort this week. The last 5 teams to play St.Kilda have all struggled the next week with the pressure and physical style St.Kilda apply. West Coast have nothing to gain by winning this game. They cant make finals and losses will help them in the draft. Port on the other hand are only 1 game outside the 8. They blew a massive chance last week against cellar dwellers Melbourne and will be looking for redemption. Port grow another leg at home and i think that this game will get messy!

St.Kilda Saints vs Adelaide Crows - The 2 form teams of the competition tackle each other here. The Saints still unbeaten and the Crows on a 7 game win streak. Adelaide were unbelieveable last week winning by 117pts and keeping Fremantle to just a single goal! All the money has been coming for the Crows to keep this close. The line has moved from 25.5 into 21.5. What must be noted though is that Adelaide have faulted each and everytime they are pitted against an elite side. St.Kilda are an elite side and continue on their merry way. They are on a mission and back at their favoured home ground. Whilst i think this game might be close at the halftime break, St.Kilda's pressure and confidence to see games out will get the better of Adelaide who will fall to another top team.

              Bet: Port Adelaide Power -33.5

              Bet: St.Kilda Saints -21.5

For this weeks action there is a over/under play that i like.

                        Melbourne Demons vs Sydney Swans:

I can see this game being an ugly, hard fought, low-scoring affair. Both teams are out of the race for finals so they are both playing alot of younger players which will show on the scoreboard.

This game is being played in Canberra and is classed as a Melbourne home game, but in effect, is an away game for both sides.

Both sides have been awful away from their home grounds.

Away from the MCG, Melbourne have averaged just 71.3pts. They have only averaged 17.2 scoring shots per game, with a high of just 20 shots.

Away from the SCG & ANZ stadium, Sydney have averaged just 72.6pts. They have only averaged 18.9 scoring shots per game, with a high of just 22 shots.

The 2 sides clearly show that when they are out of their comfort zones, they just cannot produce a score.

Whilst the weather shouldnt play a huge part in the result, it is forecast to be a cold and windy day. There should be some dew on the ground to start the match to make things a bit more difficult to score, and hopefully set the tone for the rest of the match.

With all that being said, it just points to 1 result for me..

Bet: Melbourne Demons vs Sydney Swans UNDER 184.5

Ill try and keep the streak going this week.

                            Geelong Cats vs Adelaide Crows:

The Cats were lucky to escape with victory last week, while Adelaide fought back from the loss the week before to smash Port Adelaide in the derby.

The Cats have a couple of good inclusions for this game but also 2 big outs. The Crows get back 1 of their premier players.

While everyone thinks that the Cats will win this, it should be alot closer than what weve become accustomed to at Skilled Stadium. Geelong are not at their peak right now but still keep finding ways to win. They are all but sealed into 2nd position. Adelaide meanwhile are in top form and have a top 4 position to play for.

With the likes of Tippett, Porplyzia, Burton, Knights, Goodwin etc all hitting the scoreboard I fancy Adelaides chances of pulling off an upset here.

I went against Adelaide against the Saints a couple of weeks back with one of the reasons being Adelaides poor record against the better teams. However, coach Neil Craig has addressed this issue all week and will have his boys primed for this clash.

It will most likely be a wet and windy day down in Geelong which will make it a hard fought contested battle. This should keep scores close enough for Adelaide to get the cover.

                            Bet: Adelaide Crows +26.5

Ive got a late play that i like for this week. Game starts in just under 2hrs.

                                    Essendon Bombers vs Brisbane Lions:

The Bombers have to win this one to keep their finals hopes alive. They are coming off a big upset will loss last week which has really put them under the gun. This should result in them playing their natual free flowing style of play. They are back under the lights of the MCG and this is a game i think they will win.

Brisbane started off well against Collingwood last week but then failed in the second half to get beaten by 40pts. Like most interstate teams they are not the best travellers. A second week in a row at the G might catch up with them and i look for the Bombers pace to exploit the visitors.

                                    Bet: Essendon Bombers +11.5

Thanks guys..going along nicely so far. There could be a couple of nice plays coming up for the weekend as there are some teams who have put the cue in the rack and some teams who are desperate for wins.

Also for what its worth, i am starting to compile my list of votes for the season, so i will have my Brownlow tips posted here after the home & away season finishes!

The tip for this week is in the West Coast Eagles vs North Melbourne Kangaroos game.

West Coast come into this game in form. They have won 2 in a row including one of the biggest upsets of the year by beating the Bulldogs last week by 5pts. They are back at home where no team this year has kicked 100+ pts against them. When you consider they have played the top 4 teams there, that is a huge effort!

With that being said i dont think they deserve to be 19.5pt favourites. The facts are they have only won 6 games all year. Last week was their grand final. They had 10 less scoring shots last week so it was lucky they didnt actually lose that game by a couple of goals.

The Kangaroos won against Melbourne which is nothing to celebrate, but what they managed to do was kick 19 goals! An area which they have struggled with all year has been kicking goals and maybe with putting Goldstein up forward they have a good formula. This is basically the last game the Kangas can win as they have St.Kilda and then an away trip to Port Adelaide to come so i look for them to give everything in this match.

Weather forecasts have it as being horrible conditions. Windy, raining and possibly hailing which is an advantage for us as it means it will be hard to kick goals and the game will be close.

With all that said, we try for 7 in a row with the Roo boys!

                                                        Bet: North Melbourne Kangaroos +19.5

The Roos got back to 19 in the last quarter and then a poor ump decision gave the Eagles an easy goal and that was it.

They were right there the Roos but couldnt do it. They only had 3 less scoring shots aswell so it couldve been a different story.

Will look to bounce back this week with the Brisbane Lions vs Port Adelaide Power match up.

This match is being played at Brisbanes home ground, the GABBA, so everyone will just assume they will win easily. Brisbane are good at home. Port are terrible away.

Brisbane are certain to make finals and are now just playing to get a home final. Port are right on the edge of the 8. If they win this they are a massive chance of making the finals. If they lose then they will need to win the next game and most likely rely on results to go their way.

Throw all stats, figures, home/away records out the window tonight because the Power will come to play. They will be the more desperate team, and when they turn it on, they can compete against the best of teams.

Last time they played Port won by 8 goals as 10pt dogs. They match up well and while i dont expect an 8goal win..i dont expect a 6goals loss!
