I thought runoff was reserved to penalize the offense after a penalty, this was no fault of the offense, if they called it short on the field lions could have potentially lined up fast enough to run one last play.

I'm just having a hard time understanding as I thought the spirit of the runoff rule was to penalize a team. Not lions fault they ruled it a td on the field. I dunno if they could have got lined up and got another play off or not but not getting the opportunity is pretty weak.

Exactly. Bullshit call aside, his knee was "down" at 11 seconds. So not only is it wrong in the spirit of the law, but the letter as well.

Honestly I thought it was so damn close not sure how they had enough evidence to overturned it but like I said I'm somewhat ok with that part of it..

I have never heard or seen the runoff rule after a replay, if that the rule that is flat out stupid. The runoff supposed to be there to penalize a team, lions did nothing to deserve being penalized! They not the ones who made the call on the field, I'd think if it called short they could have hurried to line and snuck it right in.

Really feels like refs decided the outcome here. Not to mention the ridiculous offensive pass interference they called earlier on drive. Seems NFL wants atl to prosper after watching last week as they were allowed to set pick after pick and packers were continually flagged for same thing..

If the original call was down on the field, OK. But there's no way in hell there was enough evidence to overturn that.
