The Dallas tease is useless. Besides covering a three point Dallas win, it offers nearly nothing. Chance of them winning or losing by one or two points is very low compared to the chances of them losing by three or more. You could make essentially the same bet but with astronomically higher odds by betting Dallas to win by exactly 1-2 points and the same with the Packers. Hell, Packers win by 1-6 pays +400 and Dallas wins by 1-6 is +250

I agree. It does seem like crossing 0 is the kiss of death but I bet if u look at it it probably safer than adding to the dog

Oh lord. You guys are killing me. No one is saying teasing through zero doesn't ever win. That's not the issue.
The reason you shouldn't tease through zero is because it doesn't offer a fair value for the price you're paying. This is a simple math conversation. It's not opinion. It's not luck. It's mathematics. You're overpaying when you tease through zero. Even more so in the playoffs, where the already unlikely final score of a tie game is now no longer possible.
When you tease from -4 to +2, you're only actually getting -3, -2, -1, +1, and +2. That's only five numbers, yet you paid for six. In a vacuum, right off the top you just lost almost 17% of what you're supposedly paying for. You basically bought three pairs of shoes, got home and realized there are only five shoes in the bag, and you agreed to this. But it gets worse. Of those five numbers, -3 is really the only one that's worth anything significant. The twos and ones, mathematically, are not worth the amount of juice that you're laying.
And to make matters even worse in this specific scenario, you jumped the gun. Buying Pittsburgh up to +7 is horrible, horrible, horrible value compared to getting them at +8.5, which you could have gotten for the same price had you waited half an hour. Teasing from +2.5 to +8.5 is arguably the single best teaser number possible.
Good luck either way, but keep in mind that fighting math is a long term losing proposition.

Exactly right. I've argued this multiple times with people but it never seems to sink in.

The chance of a game landing on 1 or 2 is less than 3%

And right on call, the cowboys lose by three. Had you gotten the full value of the teaser, you would have pushed. Instead you got stuck at +2 because of the ghost tie game value thief.
