HOU - QB Tom Savage will start this week

    Source: SI.com - Albert Breer

Houston Texans QB Tom Savage will start in Week 16, according to head coach Bill O'Brien.

Brock Osweiler makes for an expensive backup, but his poor play this season warrants the move to Savage. Against the Jaguars on Sunday, Savage came into the game and helped spark the offense. If Savage plays well, he could earn another start in Week 17 as the Texans make a run at the division title and the postseason.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers avoids setback in Week 15

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf, hamstring) did not aggravate either one of his lower-body injuries in a Week 15 win over the Chicago Bears.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for Rodgers and the Packers here. Rodgers didn't fill the air with footballs against the Bears on Sunday...but he didn't have to. He didn't practice at all last week, and Rodgers is likely to be limited in practice this week as well while he continues to deal with these injuries.

JAX - Doug Marrone named interim coach

    Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser

Jacksonville Jaguars assistant head coach/offensive line coach Doug Marrone was named the head coach on an interim basis Monday, Dec. 19, replacing the fired Gus Bradley for the final two games of the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Marrone has plenty of experience as the top man. He was the head coach at Syracuse from 2009-2012, and he left to be the head coach for the Buffalo Bills from 2013-2014.

ATL - Wednesday key for WR Julio Jones

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Kelsey Conway

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (toe) will have a clearer grasp of his availability for Week 16 Wednesday, Dec. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Falcons are on the road this week as they travel to play the Panthers on Saturday. Having Jones on the field would certainly boost the offense, and it would be a great matchup for fantasy owners to rush Jones back into the lineup. We'll wait and see what Wednesday's practice tells us.

CIN - WR A.J. Green expected for Week 16

    Source: ESPN - Bob Holtzman

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) is expected to play Saturday, Dec. 24, in Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green was limited practicing last week, but he did not play against the Steelers. The plan was to test him out during practice and get him ready for Week 16. Barring any setback, we should see Green on the field in Week 16 against the Texans.

BAL - RB Terrance West outsnaps RB Kenneth Dixon

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West played 26-of-58 snaps in Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles, while rookie Kenneth Dixon settled for 15 snaps.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Every week it seems to rotate between West and Dixon. This week it was West who got the most snaps, and he produced more fantasy points than the rookie. However, in Week 14 it was Dixon who was the better fantasy play. This is truly a 'hot hand' approach to a RBBC and makes both shaky starters in Week 16.

CLE - WR Terrelle Pryor to play through injury

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Updating an earlier report, Cleveland Browns WR Terrelle Pryor (finger) plans to play through potential ligament damage in his knuckle but will likely need surgery after the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Pryor is playing through this injury, but his once outstanding fantasy stock has taken a tumble. It's not all due to the injury, but also because of the QB switch back to Robert Griffin III. With Griffin starting the last two games, Pryor only has 11 targets, five catches and 22 receiving yards.

SD - RB Melvin Gordon's status uncertain

Source: The San Diego Union-Tribune - Michael Gehlken

San Diego Chargers head coach Mike McCoy said the team will see how RB Melvin Gordon (hip, knee) feels during the week before deciding on his status for Week 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chargers struggled running the ball without Gordon against the Raiders on Sunday. Kenneth Farrow led the team with 39 yards on 15 carries. Ronnie Hillman chipped in with 34 rushing yards on seven carries. The team will monitor Gordon closely during the week of practice. The team travels to play the hapless Browns in Week 16.

DEN - Two Denver tight ends in protocol

    Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos TEs Virgil Green (concussion) and A.J. Derby (concussion) are both in the concussion protocol, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos are thin at the position with these two guys banged up. Jeff Heuerman will get more of an opportunity in Week 16 if Green and Derby can't play.

NYJ - QB Bryce Petty's test reveal only a bruise

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New York Jets QB Bryce Petty (chest) came away from tests 'OK' in regards to the chest injury he suffered late in the team's Week 15 loss to the Miami Dolphins, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Petty has banged up in the game against the Dolphins on Saturday, and he had to be replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick. We'll be watching this QB situation during the week of practice, but in Week 16 championships fantasy owners won't be turning to any of the Jets QBs.
