MIA - RB Arian Foster Retiring Source: Chris Wesseling - NFL.com

Arian Foster announced his retirement Monday. ""This game has been everything to me ... my therapy, my joy, my solace and my enemy," Foster wrote via Uninterrupted.com. "I've learned to love every facet of this game, from the peak of accomplishment to the gutter of criticism. And it all makes the ride worthwhile. I've been fortunate enough to play many successful years in this league. I've given a lot to this game and given up a lot for it. But it has returned to me more than I could have ever asked for."

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Foster's always been his own guy so this unusual timing isn't terribly surprising. The game simply requires more than he felt he could give. We wish him the best in whatever is next for Foster.

ATL - RB Tevin Coleman not expected to play

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring) is not expected to play in Week 8 because of his hamstring injury, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Get ready for as much Devonta Freeman as he can handle. There's no need to rush Coleman back from this injury. Freeman is a RB1 in any format while Coleman is out.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy likely questionable

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) will probably be questionable for Week 8 after aggravating his hamstring injury in Week 7, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Same as it ever was. The reports out of Buffalo seem to indicate we're going to deal with the same thing we did on Sunday in regards to McCoy and his primary backup Mike Gillislee. Add Reggie Bush to the mix, and you can see how this Bills RB situation is a messy one for fantasy owners.

NYJ - QB Geno Smith has torn ACL

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New York Jets QB Geno Smith (knee) suffered a torn ACL in a Week 7 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Earlier reports indicated he was going to be okay. Well, a torn ACL isn't okay. Tough break for Smith here.

SD - TE Hunter Henry in concussion protocol

    Source: Chargers.com

San Diego Chargers TE Hunter Henry (concussion) is going through the concussion protocol, according to head coach Mike McCoy. Henry dealt with symptoms after the team's Week 7 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to monitor this. Henry has been a great rookie TE for the Chargers, but without him they'll just use Antonio Gates more.

PIT - TE Ladarius Green hopes to practice this week Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ray Fittipaldo

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) told the media he expects to speak with head coach Mike Tomlin on Monday, Oct. 24, in hopes he can begin practice during the team's Week 8 bye.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Only fantasy owners in deep leagues should be monitoring Green's status. He's naturally talented and quite athletic, but Green is also banged up quite a bit. The Steelers offense isn't one we're investing in (outside of Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown) until Ben Roethlisberger comes back.

CLE - QB Cody Kessler holding out hope for Week 8

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler (concussion) was reportedly feeling good a few hours after suffering a concussion in a Week 7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and is holding out hope to play in Week 8 against the New York Jets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team is going to take it easy on the rookie. If Kessler can't go, perhaps Josh McCown will be ready to return to the lineup.

CHI - QB Jay Cutler cleared to play

    Source: Northwest Herald

Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler (thumb) is expected to make his return following a five-week absence in Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Brian Hoyer recovering from surgery to repair his broken arm, Cutler should step back into the starting lineup.

KC - KC downplays RB Jamaal Charles lack of use

Source: The Kansas City Star - Terez A. Paylor

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) was limited to one carry on two snaps in a Week 7 win over the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Andy Reid told the media, 'His leg wasn't feeling right. That was it.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Charles isn't himself, and there's no need to give him a larger workload with the way that Spencer Ware is playing. Rinse, repeat what we've seen the last two weeks (lots of Ware, barely any Charles) and you have the Chiefs likely gameplan going forward.

SEA - RB Thomas Rawls expected back in two weeks

Source: Seattle Post-Intelligencer - Stephen Cohen

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (leg) is expected to be ready to return in two weeks, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rawls will be back, but what will his role be? The Seahawks have been getting quality play out of starter Christine Michael, and behind him they have an interesting selection of multi-skilled backs like Alex Collins, C.J. Prosise and C.J. Spiller.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant continues to progress

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) was 'doing everything' during the part of practice open to the media Monday, Oct. 24.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cowboys had a bye in Week 7, and that gave Bryant more time to heal. He's missed three games leading up to the bye, but this is the week he should return. Monitor his status as the week of practice goes on. If healthy, Bryant is a WR1 option for fantasy owners.

NYJ - QB Bryce Petty not ready to play

Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora

New York Jets QB Bryce Petty (shoulder) has not completely recovered from the shoulder injury he suffered during the preseason.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Petty isn't ready, and he may not be that good. The Jets have four QBs on the roster, and none of them may be the QB of the future.

BUF - WR Robert Woods making progress

    Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (foot) is making solid progress in his recovery from a foot injury but his status for Week 8 is uncertain.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Woods can't play, it leaves the Bills especially thin at WR. Marquise Goodwin suffered a concussion in Week 7 and his status is up in the air. Justin Hunter may be the top WR for the Bills in Week 8.

ARI - WR Michael Floyd should play
Source: USA TODAY Sports - Tom Pelissero

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 8 despite suffering a hamstring injury in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Floyd finished week 7 with five catches for 65 yards. This week against an inexperienced Panthers secondary, the veteran could be worth starting as a 'what the heck' flex at least.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert will have bigger role

    Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert's (back) role will expand going forward, according to head coach Marvin Lewis. Eifert was limited to just third downs and red-zone plays.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Most fantasy owners should have waited to see what Eifert looked like in his first game back. His 1-for-9 stat line against the Browns is nothing to get excited about, but Eifert's upside in the future is. As he gets worked more into the offense, Eifert will eventually have TE1 value for fantasy owners.

WAS - Smaller workload for RB Matt Jones?

Source: The Washington Post - Liz Clarke

Washington Redskins RB Matt Jones could have his workload decreased following a lost fumble in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We could see that happening as the team has two productive backups in Chris Thompson and Rob Kelley. Thompson is the speedy back who can get through a tiny crease and he's a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. Kelley is more of an all-purpose back with the size to run between the tackles. Fantasy owners need to monitor this closely and know that Jones may be losing out on touches in the near future.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed can resume practicing

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (concussion) has been cleared to return to practice Wednesday, Oct. 26, after missing the last two weeks due to a concussion.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for fantasy owners -- and QB Kirk Cousins -- here. Reed still must be cleared by an independent neurologist, however, before he can play in Week 8 in London against the Cincinnati Bengals.

TEN - TE Delanie Walker suffers bruised chest

    Source: ESPN.com - Paul Kuharsky

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (chest) came away from his team's Week 7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts with a bruised chest, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team will monitor Walker's progress as the year goes on. When healthy and on the field, we'll be recommending Walker as a TE1 every week.

MIA - WR DeVante Parker falling down depth chart?

    Source: The Miami Herald

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker played 49-of-73 snaps (67 percent) in a Week 7 win over the Buffalo Bills, marking the first time he has logged fewer than 82 percent of the team's offensive snaps since his season debut in Week 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's been all downhill for Parker after his Week 1 performance (eight catches, 106 yards) against the Patriots. With the Dolphins running the ball often -- and with incredible success -- there's no need to air it out. Parker will only catch a few passes in most games. He's droppable in most leagues for better additions via the waiver wire.
