The Browns ownership/management does not expect, or even want, to win this season. They have stockpiled draft picks by trading good aging players for future picks, and have adopted a long term view to making the Browns a contender. Only silly fans expect the Browns to contend this year, but the main reason this is a great bet is because once a team buys into the rebuilding mindset it is to their advantage to lose and improve their draft position. The coach is under no pressure to win, and that means once he gets to mid-season he can start playing for next year. If they lose their opener to Philadelphia, they could go 0-16.
