Week 1 - Broncos +3.5 at home?

I'm confused by this line. Did Carolina get better? Did Denver get worse?

Manning wasn't exactly lighting it up last season, and certainly not in the super bowl where the Broncos pushed Carolina's poo poo in. Carolina laid points there and lost by fourteen. Now they're laying basically the same amount except in Mile High at altitude against the same defense who they couldn't get a first down on to save their lives, and somehow the public is still all over the Panthers to the point that the line has moved past three?

What am I missing.

you hit the nail right on the head IMO.. last season was weird for the broncos man, they were underdogs in quite a few games they shouldnt have been AND if im not mistaken last season when they WERE a favorite it wasnt any higher than -4... (maybe once when they were a 7pt favoite against oakland which oakland covered).. but if we can agree that the broncos would've have had damn near the same success without manning under center, we can also agree on denver + the points could be the pick here.. Denver's defense is just next level, thats like kubiak's main ingredient.. The u42 looks pretty solid again.

I don't like giving up 3 points in Week 1 to anyone, but I think they win this game by a couple scores. Probably my only play for Week 1.

Denver has no offense at all. None. Zero. Zilch. Carolina may not score a lot of points, but 7 may be enough to cover against the pathetic Bronco offense. Under 41 1/2 looks like the play.

The guy quietly middled a -2.5/+3.5 line that was running at two casinos down the street from each other last year, as well as went 13-0 or something in his college thread. The only thing that makes me hesitate with taking the points is the offense of Denver. They have Siemian under center. I know Manning was terrible last season, but in the championship game, he made moves that only a veteran QB would make. Siemian is not good. I'm just nervous that Sieman won't be able to move the ball. Denver also lost Malik Jackson (2nd best pass rusher on their squad) and Danny Trevathan in free agency. Not saying they are the backbone to the bronco's, but they were important. I'll probably lay off this game because I can't really pick a side with confidence. Gun to my head right now, I'd take Carolina.
