I'm in SoCal but want to lay some good dough on Broncos and thinking about making the drive/flight. I would imagine winning there with the aura is 100000x better
Has anyone gone to Vegas just to bet the Super Bowl?

#2Going for the game is cool for sure. But I imagine you'll be better off betting online and just going to enjoy the atmosphere in Vegas. If you're still laying -110 juice on football games, you're doing it wrong.Comment -

As for the game, Denver or nothing. This line would be Panthers -7.5 if the game were in Carolina. That's too high.

#8I have been there many times. If you have the cash, or know someone, there are many great parties you can get invites to. Anyone dumb enough to wager off shore gets what they pay for. A potential screwing with every wager and a long wait to see the money, in many cases. Besides, the off shore books have ridiculously low limits, though that would not affect about 95% of you guys in here. Vegas is definitely the best way to go, IF you have the money.Comment -

#9Yeah the atmosphere is the best there. I was there for the Minnesota/Seattle game. As a neutral fan, such an awesome people watching experience. Seeing people hours later still in their Vikings gear walking around like they just got sucker punched and still haven't realized it yet was amazing.

#11A lot of the reliable websites offer lower lines. All my lines on Heritage are -105. Pinnacle, I believe, also has reduced lines. I think I remember 5d having them as well? BigDaddyQH does bring up a good point about larger wagers though. For me, the 5k a game limit isn't an issue yet. One day it will be, but that day isn't here yet. That'll be a good problem to have when it happens. With that said, I doubt I'd feel comfortable wagering 5k a game or more online, and hoping they don't misgrade bets or try to swindle me on some technicality. QH is definitely correct on that. But like he said, that simply isn't the case for the vast majority of posters here.
As an addendum, I'd just like to point out what an enormous difference reduced juice is. I know a lot of guys on here aren't math obsessed the way I am, but just know that the extra five cents juice saved on every spread loss will be worth dozens of units in any given calendar year. Even for guys whose units are only $100 bets, it's an extra $5 saved every time you lose. If you're an ncaaf, NBA, nhl, mlb, etc bettor on top of nfl, you'll save enough money by the end of the year to take a nice vacation.Comment -

#12I'm in Ventura county, about 25 miles south of Santa Barbara. What part of LA are you in? I'm going for UFC 197 but want to go before, never been for the big game. I do want to make a big play on Den which led to my next question for anyone whos gambled high wagers in Vegas. Doing some research (since the highest wager I've made in Vegas was a total payout of $1050) shows that Vegas issues the CTR report for any wager that has a payout of 10K or over? Is this correct? Can you split 2 $5k bets in different casinos to avoid this?

#13Where's that put you, Oxnard area? You must be near the 33. One of my favorite roads to drive, plus I love Ojai. Just wish they didn't close those hot springs to the public. So lame.

Laurel canyon isn't bad my sister lived there when she was going to Ucla. Anything is better than actually living in the heart of LA in my opinionComment -

#17Eh, anyone can live here. We have more "normal" price apartments and rooms available than bazillion dollar properties. La is gigantic. There's plenty of space to live here and the cost of living has way better value than New York City or San Fran. Granted, it's still a major city so it's not gonna be as affordable as a suburb and certainly not as cheap as just about anywhere outside of California, but it's not like you couldn't just move here today. Show up, find a job, voila.
