IND - QB Matt Hasselbeck expected to start

    Source: IndySportsCentral.com - Mike Chappell

Indianapolis Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck (neck, rib) should be able to participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9, and is expected to be the starting quarterback against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Colts will likely take it easy on the old quarterback this week during practice. Hasselbeck's MRI revealed a stiff neck and a mild rib separation.

NYG - QB Eli Manning had ankle X-rays

    Source: NFL.com

New York Giants QB Eli Manning (ankle) had X-rays on his ankle after the Week 13 game, according to head coach Tom Coughlin. Manning said he's fine, though, and will not miss a start.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's something to keep an eye on, but it looks like Manning is going to be okay. Manning finished the game and wasn't walking with a significant limp after the loss to the New York Jets.

DEN - QB Brock Osweiler will start again

Source: USA TODAY Sports - Lindsay H. Jones

Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler will make another start in Week 14, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Zero surprise here. Peyton Manning isn't healthy, and the Broncos are 3-0 with Osweiler under center. Osweiler runs the Kubiak offense true to design, and this plays to the strength of the team; the defense. Osweiler is not much of a fantasy option, and the conservative nature of the offense holds the wide receivers back as well.

CLE - QB Johnny Manziel will start

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating an earlier report, Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel will be named the starting quarterback Monday, Dec. 7, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Browns are going with Manziel provided he doesn't do anything off the field to lose the opportunity (again). It's got to be a final hurrah with the Browns as they could move on from the 2014 first-round pick if he doesn't play well. Fantasy owners should realize that a scrambling QB like Manziel can be a valuable asset. Add him at least to block other owners in your league. If you've been streaming quarterbacks, then Manziel might be an option for you in the fantasy playoffs.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy playing lighter

Source: The Buffalo News - Tyler Dunne

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy has been lighter this year compared to last, and the Bills are getting creative with their play calling in order to give him plenty of one-on-one opportunities. With extra dieting and conditioning, McCoy has been able to 'maintain his quickness' this season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's a light back running in a power system, but McCoy is producing at a high level provided that he's healthy. McCoy's lost at least 10 pounds from last season and is down to 206 pounds. Running backs coach Anthony Lynn also wants McCoy attacking more to get vertical quicker when he sees holes open up.

BAL - QB Matt Schaub passes concussion tests

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (head) passed the concussion tests after the team's Week 13 game and passed them again Monday, Dec. 7, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Schaub might be eased in during the week of practice. At this time, it looks like he'll be playing in Week 14.

ATL - WR Julio Jones frustrated with role

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones, who had eight catches for 93 yards on the season in the Week 13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, failed to catch a touchdown for the fourth straight game. Jones seems frustrated with his red zone role despite passing the 100-catch mark on the season. 'I don't know what we're getting down there. I don't know what the thinking is as far as if we're going to throw the jump balls or if we're going to run the ball or whatever look we're getting down there. We practice throughout the week throwing jump balls, throwing fades, throwing all these little things. But when the game comes, you never know what's going to come up,' Jones said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners are frustrated as there could be much more there with Jones on a weekly basis. QB Matt Ryan is struggling in the red zone, and Week 13 was no different. The Falcons went 1-for-3 in their red zone trips against Tampa Bay, and Jones was targeted four times in the red zone with two catches. However, he wasn't thrown to at all in five goal-to-go situations.

CHI - TE Martellus Bennett day-to-day

    Source: NFL.com

Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett (rib) remains day-to-day, according to head coach John Fox.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The ribs injury has really slowed Bennett down. Bennett played in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers but had just three catches for 14 yards. Find other options.

BAL - QB Joe Flacco to have surgery

    Source: WNST

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) will undergo surgery on his torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament Tuesday, Dec. 8, with Dr. James Andrews.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Flacco will have plenty of time to heal, but his availability for the start of training camp in 2016 is up in the air. If all goes well during the recovery process, he should be good to start at the beginning of the regular season.

BAL - TE Crockett Gillmore, TE Maxx Williams could play

    Source: WNST

Baltimore Ravens TEs Crockett Gillmore (back) and Maxx Williams (concussion) have a really good chance to play against the Seattle Seahawks this week, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Both are only reserve tight ends for your fantasy team. Monitor both during the week of practice, but you should have much better options than Gillmore and/or Williams already in place.

NYJ - CB Darrelle Revis still in concussion protocol

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol but is feeling much better, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Revis is doing light physical activities and attended the Jets' Week 13 game. Keep an eye on the practice report to see when he can return.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning to start conditioning

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Legwold

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) is not expected to take part in practice this week but should start some kind of throwing regimen, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

QB Brock Osweiler will start again for the Broncos in Week 14 against the Oakland Raiders. Manning could work with strength and conditioning coach Luke Richesson this week. Manning has done some upper body conditioning in recent weeks with minimal throwing.

JAX - WR Allen Hurns cleared

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (concussion) was fully cleared through the NFL's concussion protocol Monday, Dec. 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for the young receiver here. Hurns will likely be eased back into practice this week. If he can fully practice on Friday, then chances are good that he'll be available to play in Week 14.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson not happy with carries

    Source: ESPN.com - Ben Goessling
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson, who was held to just 18 yards on eight carries in the Week 13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, hinted that he's not happy with his number of carries. 'As one of the leaders on the team, seeing how the running game has been all season, you definitely want to be able to go out and establish the run and let things feed off of that,' Peterson said. 'To finish with eight carries, it's tough. I feel like we're able to sit back, evaluate some things again and get back to what we do.' Peterson met with head coach Mike Zimmer after the game to share his concerns after receiving only 13 carries Nov. 22, according to a league source.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Last week, things were different as Peterson toted the rock 29 times. This week, they found themselves down 21-0 at halftime against Seattle. Peterson carried the ball the first two times in the second half but didn't have a carry after that. We expect things to be improved here, but falling down by three touchdowns is not a gamescript this team can come back from.

PHI - RB DeMarco Murray sees limited action

    Source: CSNPhilly.com - Reuben Frank

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray played just 14 snaps Sunday, Dec. 6, and had eight carries against the New England Patriots. Murray averaged 36 snaps per game before Sunday. His previous low this season was 25. RB Darren Sproles had 15 carries, the third-most of his career and his most since he had 18 in 2009. RB Kenjon Barner had nine carries, which was a career high.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eagles coach Chip Kelly explained the distribution of carries by saying he believed that the smaller, faster Barner and Sproles would be better matchups for the Eagles against the Patriots' larger linebackers. Murray's fantasy owners may understand that sentiment, but they certainly don't appreciate his lack of playing time on Sunday. Eagles fans don't care as the team was able to pull off the upset of the Patriots.

TB - TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins sees limited work

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Greg Auman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Austin Seferian-Jenkins played 21 snaps (30% of the offense) Sunday, Dec. 6.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team was easing him back on Sunday. Seferian-Jenkins was back this week after dealing with a lingering shoulder injury since the first month of the season. He's a fine target with good upside, and fantasy owners in deep leagues should be considering him for a bench spot just in case he blows up during the fantasy playoffs.
