    Indy Colts 27th Pick
After carefully studying the board...the Indianapolis Colts and Bill Polian select:

    Kenny Britt WR Rutgers

The Colts have a track record of picking offense over defensive needs with the 1st pick! Haywood-Bey ran the fastest 40 at WR and will probably be gone by then but Britt worked out for his local teams (Jets/Giants) and ran a low 4.4 @ 6-3/218 lbs! The Colts no longer play half their games in a dome and while Reggie Wayne is pretty tough...Peyton Manning has never had a big & physical WR that can get a jump ball in traffic! Vincent Jackson (Chargers) almost single-handedly beat us that way in the playoffs 2 yrs ago! DT or LB help wouldn't shock me but Polian wants to fill seats in his new stadium/$hit economy and the way to do that is to crank out offense and points! I doubt the Jets take Britt but the Giants (29th pick) might jump Indy for Britt and Polian doesn't believe in trading up in the draft! Personally, I think Plex Burress might be a surprise fit in Indy...he might take less to play here and its not like he's a TO type of problem...he actually makes big catches in big games!

I've never been a big fan of Plax, who is only getting older and more of an off-field liability. I don't see Indy seeking him out unless the price is right and he comes to them. Colts still have an offer on the table to Marvin, which is probably what will happen when push comes to shove. Nobody else wants Marvin either.

As for the draft, Polian will take whoever is the best player at the spot. So, it's hard to predict 27 players in, what will happen. I'll just sit back and watch Polian work his magic. Polian is second to none in draft performance.

Hard to argue the smarts of Bill on draft day.

I just hope the Colts don't try and to be so balanced and throw the damn ball before Peyton's day is over. I desire a Patriot style attack.

Colts took a RB and Britt went a few picks later to Tennessee! Hard to argue w/Polian and we'll find out when we see Britt trying to haul in a pass and avoid Bob Sanders!

I shouted an F-bomb when they took a RB. I was hoping for a DT, but then they had Polian on the radio and he explained that there were more DTs in the draft but there wasn't another RB of this calibre. So, I've calmed down a little. God knows Polian knows more about what's going on than I do, but taking the RB did surprise me.
