I can't believe I haven't seen this discussed here or anywhere in the general media because I think the implication that they also deflated the football vs the Ravens is both deserved and probable. First, the benefit to deflating balls in cold and rainy games is obvious. You don't even have to have played organized football to know this. Its obvious the first time you catch a deflated ball vs one that is pumped to regulation. Lets just move passed this part of the argument. The rules are there for a reason.
Now that we know 11 of 12 footballs the New England Patriots had vs the Colts were deflated by 2 lbs beneath the permitted limit- do you really think they thought up this scheme on Monday following the Ravens game?? This was a razor-thin matchup where I think the Ravens showed to be the better team, but through luck, savvy and trickery they were able to pull it out. Deflated balls in this matchup literally could have been the difference between winning and losing. Anyways, as we know. The punishment will be minimal Belicheat and his staff will go unpunished minus some monetary considerations and they will go on to plan more schemes to cheat for next year.
