NFL Player News for Week 12 - Weekend Edition
LOTS of notable player injuries this week. And Arian Foster seems much closer to Doubtful than Questionable, although Texans did not miss a beat with Alfred Blue last week. Also note Emmanuel Sanders has been resurrected.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders will play against Miami
Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck
Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (concussion) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 21, and is probable for Week 12 against the Miami Dolphins, according to head coach John Fox.

Good news for Sanders and Peyton Manning. Check back Sunday to make sure he doesn't have any set backs but it's looking good right now.

HOU - RB Arian Foster a game-time decision?
    Source: ESPN.com - Tania Ganguli
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (groin) did not practice Friday, Nov. 21, and is questionable for Week 12 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Head coach Bill O'Brien said Foster would be worked out prior to the game Sunday, Nov. 23, to see if he can play.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Assume Foster won't be in the lineup and start Blue as if Foster will not play. If Foster does go, he'll be a boom/bust RB2 play, but Blue will also likely be at least worth a flex play, if not more. It's hard to see Foster taking on his full workload after not practicing this week.

NE - RB LeGarrette Blount won't unseat RB Jonas Gray
Source: The Boston Globe - Ben Volin
New England Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount was not signed by the team to replace RB Jonas Gray as the between-the-tackles runner. Blount's presence gives the team another tough inside runner in the potentially poor-weather weeks ahead.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hopefully you didn't drop Gray on the news of Blount's signing. Blount could have value if Gray goes down, but Gray is still the primary power back.

CIN - RB Giovani Bernard probable
    Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson
Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (hip, clavicle) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 21, and is probable for Week 12.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bernard could get the lesser part of the backfield with Jeremy Hill playing well in his absence, but he's still a solid PPR play.

DEN - TE Julius Thomas could be game-time decision
Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck
Denver Broncos TE Julius Thomas (ankle), who appeared limited during practice Friday, Nov. 21, figures to be a game-time decision against the Miami Dolphins in Week 12. Thomas said his ankle is improving, though: 'If I can go, I will go.'
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Thomas sounds like a player who will be limited even if he does play, but the pickings are so slim at tight end that an active Thomas is an automatic start regardless of expectations. The problem is that he's playing in a late game, so you might not have the luxury of waiting around to hear his status. Check back with us on Sunday morning when Dr. Jene Bramel will update us on the latest around Thomas's injury.

DET - RB Reggie Bush questionable
    Source: MLive.com - Justin Rogers
Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) was limited for the third straight day in practice Friday, Nov. 21, and he is listed as questionable for Week 12 against the New England Patriots.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It doesn't seem like Bush is going to get back anywhere near 100% this year. Theo Riddick should stay on PPR benches instead of being dropped because Bush could miss this weekend or additional games before the end of the season if his ankle doesn't improve. Bush isn't worth a roster spot.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed ruled out
    Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling
Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) missed his third straight day of practice Friday, Nov. 21, and head coach Jay Gruden said Reed has been ruled out for Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Niles Paul becomes a streaming TE option this week with Reed out.

CIN - RB Jeremy Hill forecasted for more
Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr.
Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill will be the leader in a 65-35 split of the carries with RB Giovani Bernard in Week 12, in the opinion of beat writer Paul Dehner Jr.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hill is definitely the better play of the two this week, although Bernard is still worth a look in PPR leagues.

MIN - RB Matt Asiata sits out Friday
Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Matt Vensel
Minnesota Vikings RB Matt Asiata (concussion) missed his third straight day of practice Friday, Nov. 21.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Asiata is likely to be out with the concussion, which opens the door for new Viking Ben Tate to play this weekend.

NE - RB Jonas Gray probable
    Source: Patriots.com
New England Patriots RB Jonas Gray (non-injury) is listed as probable for Week 12.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We don't know yet if Gray will be punished for missing practice.

KC - Will sign WR Jason Avant
    Source: NationalFootballPost.com - Aaron Wilson
The Kansas City Chiefs will sign free-agent WR Jason Avant (Panthers), according to a source. Avant worked out for the team Friday, Nov. 21.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This was expected by many after the Panthers let him go during their bye week. Avant has played with Andy Reid for most of his career and should help a Chiefs wide receiver corps which arguably has only two or three players that would be on most rosters.

NO - RB Khiry Robinson out again
    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com
New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) did not practice for the second straight day Friday, Nov. 21.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's looking like Robinson will sit for yet another week, which means Mark Ingram remains an RB2 in a tough matchup against the Ravens.

STL - TE Jared Cook questionable
    Source: StLouisRams.com
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook (back) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 21, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Cook has been inconsistent again this year and the Rams pass offense probably won't flourish with Shaun Hill at the helm, so this issue makes it easier to remove Cook from your TE streamer list this week.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson's appeal hearing set
    Source: FOXSports.com - Jay Glazer
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson's appeal hearing is scheduled to occur Dec. 2, and commissioner Roger Goodell will not be in charge of the hearing. Former NFL employee Harold Henderson will be the hearing officer.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Peterson is still facing very long odds to play this season, so he probably shouldn't be carried in typical leagues in the hope that he returns to the field in 2014.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert may return in 2014
    Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson
Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (elbow) has a chance to return at some point this season, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Bengals are at least leaving open that he could return, but this also means that there is still a chance, if not a good chance, that he won't play again this year. Jermaine Gresham will hang onto TEBC/streamer value in the meantime.

ARI - WR Larry Fitzgerald not practicing
    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (knee) was not participating during the media-access portion of practice Friday, Nov. 21. Fitzgerald was working on the side during that part of practice.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Even if Fitzgerald is active at Seattle, it's a bad idea to play him with a tough matchup and an injury that would sideline most players for at least a week.

TEN - TE Delanie Walker good to go
Source: The Tennessean - Jim Wyatt
Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (concussion) has passed his concussion test and is good to go in Week 12 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Walker has a great matchup this week and he should be in your lineup as a TE1 unless you have a top 5-6 option to play over him.

IND - TE Dwayne Allen won't play in Week 12
Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora
Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Coby Fleener will get the majority of targets at tight end and he's a great play this week at the very tough position to solve.

TB - RB Doug Martin questionable
    Source: Buccaneers.com
Tamp Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (ankle) was limited in practice and is questionable for Week 12.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Martin could play but at best is one-third of an RBBC, and not the bigger third, either. His time seems to have come and gone in Tampa under this new regime.

    SEA - Friday injury report
    Source: NFL
Seattle Seahawks C Max Unger (ankle, knee), LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (shoulder) and CB Marcus Burley (hamstring) have been ruled out for Week 12. DE Demarcus Dobbs (knee) is listed as doubtful. OG James Carpenter (ankle) is listed as questionable, while DE Michael Bennett (non-injury), LB Brock Coyle (glute), CB Byron Maxwell (calf), OG J.R. Sweezy (thigh) and LB Bobby Wagner is listed as probable. Carpenter, Dobbs, Pierre-Louis and Unger did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 21. Burley was limited during practice, while the other players fully participated in practice.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The loss of Unger could be a blow for an offensive line that will face a tough Arizona defense on Sunday. Look for a defensive battle at Century Link.

MIN - TE Kyle Rudolph a full go
    Source: Vikings.com
Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (abdomen, groin) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 21, and is probable.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Rudolph should get more than the paltry number of snaps he got last week, but he's still not worth a start until he shows us that he's back and has established chemistry with Teddy Bridgewater.

MIA - RB Lamar Miller questionable
Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel - Omar Kelly
Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller (shoulder, knee) was limited in practice Friday, Nov. 21, and is listed as questionable for Week 12 against the Denver Broncos. Miller has been nursing a sore shoulder for the last three weeks, but he also recently suffered a knee injury in practice. RBs Damien Williams and Daniel Thomas will likely share the workload if Miller sits out. RB LaMichael James could also be activated for the first time this year.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Miller is facing a tough run defense and his team could fall behind and abandon the run on Sunday against Denver. He's a weak RB2 play, and could be inactive.

    CLE - Friday injury report
    Source: NFL
Cleveland Browns WR Marlon Moore (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 21, and has been ruled out for Week 12. LB Karlos Dansby (knee) did not practice and is listed as doubtful. LB Jabaal Sheard (foot) and CB Johnson Bademosi (concussion) were limited during practice and are listed as questionable. DE Desmond Bryant (wrist), LB Barkevious Mingo (shoulder) and DT Ahtyba Rubin (knee) fully participated in practice and are listed as probable.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The loss of Dansby should make it easier on Alfred Blue (and/or Arian Foster, who is a game time decision) when it comes time to run the ball on Sunday.

MIA - TE Charles Clay listed as doubtful
Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel - Omar Kelly
Miami Dolphins TE Charles Clay (knee) did not practice Friday, Nov. 21, and he is doubtful for Week 12 against the Denver Broncos. Clay suffered a setback in practice this week, and he's been nursing a sore right knee since training camp. TE Dion Sims would replace Clay in the starting lineup, with TE Gator Hoskins serving as the backup. Sims has caught nine passes for 124 yards and a touchdown this year. Miami is expected to use more three- and four-tight end sets if Clay is out.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Sims is a big target who might be preferred in the red zone, but he's not going to run away from any linebackers.
