I really like the Stillers any time they're on MNF.
However, Pittsburgh has been very erratic this year. They have knocked off some of the league's elite teams this year, and they've also got their dicks kicked in by the dregs of the NFL this year. It is important to note what's going on in the AFC North right now, and even after playing so inconsistently they're still only a half game out of that final wild card spot in the AFC.
I was watching them play against the Colts with a few friends, and we all remarked that they looked like they belonged to be in the Superbowl. When they're on, they are ON. Hung up like almost 100 pts in 2 weeks playing Indy and Balty back to back.
I think it's safe to say that Tennessee kinda falls into that same category as the Jets. Titans have dropped 7 of their last 8 and have yet to beat a team with a winning record.
Here's something mildly interesting - when Roethlisberger plays well, they win. When he has a passer rating of less than 100.0 (3x this season), they lose (each time).
As far as the Titans go, I personally do like Mettenberger. I also liked Locker, and we all know how that turned out. Anyway, as much as I like Mettenberger long-term, he isn't lighting up the world this year. Hasn't really hit his stride by any stretch of the imagination. Only Jacksonville is averaging less PPG than the Titans, and Tennessee has not scored more than 17 pts SINCE WEEK 5. Yuck.
Moral of the story: I wouldn't be shocked if Tennessee upsets Pittsburgh, but my logical brain tells me the Steelers should win by at least 10.
Where do you guys stand on this?
