I do something similar. These usually hit at a much higher rate. Ive been tracking this for 4 yrs. this is by far the worst year.

Yup - these numbers represent the percentage of players in my buddy's work pool who select a team ATS.

For the most part, they are having an outstanding year compared to the previous 4 seasons. That being said, going against the 80% picks has still paid off this year. I assume that going against the 70% picks will return to the historical average and also then positive. Thus far this week's picks are 2-0....tho these guys always seem to pick the Colts to cover so we will see if the Giants can shake off their tendency to suck tonight.

Seems like a good enough reason to take NYG. I was terrible at NFL games - finally started winning a few years back when I went against the masses and paid attention to in-game hedges when they made sense.
