why in the world would you lay 3.5 in a series that continually has final scores within 3 points?

Because I liked the situation for Balty. -2.5 would have cost me -120 at the time the bet was made, and the Ravens are a much more capable team than the Steelers at this point. I didn't think it would be a 20 point win, but I was feeling good about them winning soundly. There are outliers to every trend.
