WAY too early to make a judgement call like that. Very rarely does the opening drive of a game define how the rest will play out.

It was not bang/bang. The ball was tipped and hit the ground. The receiver (Davis I think) took at least 5 steps after the ball was laying on the grass and the DB gave him a free pop. You just can't hit a guy late like that. It had nothing to do with the pass being tipped. The DB had plenty of time to lay off the hit.

I'm the first guy who wants the refs to let them play BUT that is the very definition of a late hit.

Bang bang play. I always respected those who can maintain objectivity even when their bet is on the other side.

I bet SF and I disagree, ball was tipped, in real game speed the CB must have thought receiver had a chance to catch it, laid him out with a hard hit but it looked completely legal to me. No helmet to helmet contact..

It was not bang/bang? I re-watched it on DVR, slowed it down. Ball is tipped, as ball is tipped Vernon Davis extends his arms out as if the ball is coming to him, he realizes in probably half a second that the ball is not going to come to him, in that same split second the CB lowers his head and makes the decision to hit Davis, not realizing the ball is not going to land in Davis' lap.

It was the definition of bang/bang for me. We disagree on this one.

I know it's easy to decide the refs are against your team but maybe consider the possibility that Carolina is just not playing with discipline? Can we just once give the refs the benefit of the doubt?
