does home field matter more in the playoffs?
Still undecided on two of the four wild card games this weekend.....I feel like home field adv has a huge influence in football relative to the other major sports. I do not like laying poinrd on the away team unless they are far better than their opponent. Any thoughts guys?

In the NFL, home field is worth just under 3 points as opposed to a neutral field. It's very standard.

Home field matters less in the playoffs in my opinion.

Baltimore was what, a 9.5 point dog last year in Denver? How many times did Marty Schottenheimer teams lost at home, 15-1 teams, 13-3 teams. How about the dirty birds going into the Metrodome to beat the 15-1 Vikings? Donovan Mcnabb and Andy Reid losing all those NFC championships. Tony Dungy always lost as a favorite. Atlanta losing at home last year where Matt Ryan was never supposed to lose. Drew Brees going into Chicago and winning his super bowl year.

I don't know if it is the setting or stronger playoff quality opponents or what but you will see home teams lose.
