Pick apart my week 9 NFL picks/bets!
My usual research has led me to pick the following four NFL teams to bet on for week 9:

    Cincinnati Bengals over Miami Dolphins

New Orleans Saints over NY Jets

Kansas City Chiefs over Buffalo Bills

    Indianapolis Colts over Houston Texans

Pick these bets apart and suggest others, thanks.

What was the criteria? Picking the teams with the best records?

I am in my forties and have only been betting on sports for six weeks. Why? Good question. For the last 15+ years I have been playing poker in the casinos and not much else. I am a money making player at poker over the long haul, so I stick with it. What made me start looking at sports betting? I met a guy who actually makes his living betting sports who talked me into betting a game five weeks ago and I won so that started the sports betting interest. I am up $75.00 overall on sports betting, but it has been harder than it looks...

The guy I know who makes a living at this is not always around in the casinos and will not give any info out on the phone when I text him. Now I am on the SBR forum looking for new friends...

I do not have any fancy program I am using. So far I look at team info on ESPN, look at the spread and pick the games to bet on. That has worked out slightly positive bet wise so far. I am usually betting the favorite. Trying to narrow it down to three or four teams to make straight bets on out of all the games played for the week. The idea is to pick the three or four best bets out of all the games available for the week.

I do not have any one favorite team. I bet on the Broncos when the Cowboys won against them and thought that it was the best game I have watched so far this season(I bet on the Cowboys the following week and won that one). I can enjoy a great game even when I loose a bet. I enjoy the NFL games and working towards winning a higher percentage of the time...

Out of the 5 biggest public plays on road teams this week, you picked 4 of them.

If I told my friends who are casual NFL fans and couldn't win at sports betting to save their lives to pick 5 sides they'd bet this week, they'd probably pick 4 of your plays

Obviously public plays hit almost 50% of the time anyway and it's entirely possible you go 3-1 here, but the fact that all 4 of your plays are the squarest ones on the board doesn't exactly make it seem like you have any good angles or sharp insight on these games. If you really want to win in the long run, that's what you need

I am not offended and you would be 100% correct. I am trying to pick the easiest games to win over the point spread. I am trying to avoid the hard coin flip questionable games.

I feel that watching the games gives a huge edge in betting for the next week. The problem for me is I only watch a few games a week. If I watched all of the NFL games each week I know that would help me more.

I always look at my picks and think which game will be the toughest to win money on? The Colts played extremely hard against the Broncos and won. I picked the Colts over the Texans, but I actually think this game is the toughest game to win money on out of my four picks based on watching the games they have played.

Well I certainly would prefer the Texans didn't have the bye to regroup, way their season's been going, even if it meant taking the bye away from the Colts.

I'm like you, I pick favorites. I'm aware that blindly picking road favorites does not do well, but I've picked my spots and done well the past 3 seasons (though less so this year). I took bengals earlier, but if you're getting 3 or worse, I'd shy away with the injuries. Tend to like Saints even on the road. Bills are definitely dangerous, big stay away with the Chiefs poor offense on the road.

The Chiefs could not score points very well against the Texans. It went back and forth punting the ball with neither team scoring later in that game. The Texans can be tough. The Colts have beaten some of the toughest teams this season, but I expect they will not have an easy game against the Texans. The Colts also played extremely hard against the Broncos and then had the bye week. I have to go with the Colts over the Texans with the low point spread on that game.
