Yes the Chiefs deserve credit, after compiling a 2-14 record last year with however many pro-bowlers, but you cannot win playoffs games with these 1 point victories over a team starting back-up QBs... KC barely won in Tenesee aswell, the score was not an accurate gauge of that Chiefs victory.

Remains to be seen, their schedule is going to get a lot tougher in the latter portion of the year, but as you say Arrowhead stadium is a hard place to win.

Well said, as I mentioned earlier it remains to be seen how they play Denver, San Diego, Washington seems to be playing better now and I even think the Raiders might give them a fight in the black hole.

You are totally underestimating this team.

They will beat the Bronco's once, if not twice.

They have one of the better secondary's in the league, and an absolute havoc wreaking pass rush and a whole defensive unit, Defensive coordinator included, that is clicking on all cylinders......

Also, they have a QB that does not turn the ball over and makes the plays he needs.

Offensive play calling is efficient from what I have seen.

Also, they have the best RB in the league.....by a mile....

They are good, but yeah we've been fortunate. Played Dallas at home, Houston with all its injuries (Though Keenum did play well), Tennessee without Locker. Until they play Denver, Indy and SD I'm not sold that they are they have a reasonable shot at winning a Superbowl. Offense needs to get better.

Actually a little worried they could lose against the Brownies with the public on the Chiefs at 80%.

Generally when I evaluate teams I review 3 key points

1. Does the team turn the ball over/ alternatively does the team force turnovers.
2. Offensive production - which the Chiefs do lack in - i.e. yards per play, QB splits, WR splits.
3. Defensive production - which the Chiefs really excel at, they are first in D/ST rankings - i.e. turnover ratio, rpg allowed, points.

The more I review some stats the more I feel like I overreacted emotionally as a Chargers fan, this is a good defense.

I just want them to face a good offensive team like the Broncos, will they be able to respond with a "manage the offense" qb like Smith from a deficit, if so happens...

See that remains to be seen, you're not going to win 1 point games against good sound- balanced offenses unlike the Chiefs current model. Alex Smith had 250 yards no passing Tds, an Int and rushing TD against a depleted Texans team.

That defense is legit and charles is a top back..as long as alex smith doesnt turn the ball over, I dont see how anyone can doubt them. If they got caught in a shootout with a defensive letdown, I would worry but that might not happen very often

Agree here for sure Jago! That defense is very good and legit but lets not get carried away here. They are not the 85 Bears or 2000 Ravens which are the two best defenses I have ever seen in my lifetime. Going back to the Giants game , Titans , and Raiders all were close late and the scores were padded at the end. They are a good solid, and improved team no doubt but they have benefitted from a very weak schedule to this point as well. Time will tell after we see how they stack up vs better competition as the season goes on.

I think it's very difficult to be "underrated" in a parity league like the NFL when you're 7-0. But you can be "overrated" when you have a few 1 point wins, 4 wins this year by the Chiefs have been without Alex Smith throwing 1 TD. They are ranked as one of the top 3 teams in the league, therefore "Overrated" IMO. Obviously you're welcome to you have yours, lets see how these last 9 games go.

I don't think ppl are overrating them. Even with 7-0 record, they are mostly ranked 5-7 range in power rankings around the media. They may go 9-0 if they can beat clev and buff. But can they go in to Denver and beat payton? Remains to be seen.

Chiefs are 34% on third down conversions this year. Offense is in the bottom half of the league. Let's keep stating the obvious. This team isn't an offensive team! They have won on their defense....period. Not saying they are gonna win the Super Bowl, but ask some previous offensive juggernauts how it's worked out for them. Last years Ravens, seriously. Peyton sure could have used a pass rush last year on Flacco in the playoffs! Year before, don't tell me Tom Brady wanted a better defense when Eli made em look stupid late in the game! Indy was at home on turf and has a great secondary. Plus Franklin was out so it was Vasquez first game at tackle. Franklin should be back for the KC games but KC can def rush the QB so if Denver's O-line is still beat up then the Chiefs could do damage.

Overall...I lived in KC for a year and have alot of friends there and the boring "running/good defense" philosphy will only get you so far in todays game. They never made it that far w/Priest Holmes, Trent Green, etc. and they won't do any better w/Smith and Charles. You need to be able to make some big plays downfield w/dynamic weapons and they've never believed in that.
