My story and a play for Thursday Night Football

Hey SBR forum, I'm not much of a writer but I'll give it a go so the forum can get a little bit of insight on how I got to this point.

Trying to become a professional gambler is a new endeavor that I've undertaken, for the longest time I thought academia and the traditional lifestyle that we all seek at one point was my way to happiness.

Man was I wrong,

After getting my major in International Business from the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Northern Mexico in 2008 I became dissatisfied with life.

After dumping an Internship at the World Bank offices in New York City I traveled the world, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos with a stop at Cuba this last summer to recharge my batteries and to think about my next move.

This is when gambling comes in.

Because of a medium sized inheritance I was left with and a couple thousand dollars I've procured over menial jobs I've had over the years I've been able to amass enough money for overhead and regular expenditures in Las Vegas for at least six months. This plus a 20,000 dollar bankroll will get me kick started in my search of becoming a professional gambler.


I want to help you guys make some money and help myself. My strong point has always been NFL football so here goes my first bet.

Good luck. Real tough game to cap, I could argue either side. Rams 0-3 ATS, run defense destroyed by Boys last week. Bradford can sling it but he was roughed up last week. I believe he was sacked 6 times. Rams miss Steven Jackson. Their rush attack is basically non-existent.

49ers arguably missing two best defensive players. If Willis plays, he's nicked up. Kap misses his top receiving target Crabtree. Boy what a fall from grace for that guy. Even Gore pissed he's not getting touches.

I don't have a strong feeling on either side. Slight lean towards Niners at this point. Looks like it will be small wager for entertainment purposes for me. Both sides combined 1-5 ATS and not to be trusted with any significant amount of my dollars.

What's your angle on the game and why do you like the Rams?

Prime time games tough to cap, # sharp. Your best chance of making money in football is zeroing in on a conference or two in college. Know the teams inside and out. Vegas has to hang a # on a lot of games on Saturdays.

If your bankroll is 20k and you have other money to fall back and live off of then betting 1k is not as bad as these guys are making it sound like. The most important things you'll need to master this game are confidence, consistency, perseverance, discipline, and a switch to turn your ego on and off. Imagine you are the best handicapper in the world; you're hitting %67; you can easily drop 3 games in a row. The main thing is to be able to take those losses and understand you made the right bets even though you lost. I wish you the best, it seems we are on the same boat. As for Thursday I can only hope you win, because we are on the same side.

I don't post on this site often because for the most part the non-sense on here skews my visions. I only make money on NHL and just bet NFL for fun (the NFL books are too good). But I couldn't pass up this up.
