I know it's a foregone conclusion that if you have the first pick, you take Peterson without a second thought, but I'm having second, third, and fourth thoughts. I just have a gut feeling that Peterson's numbers are gonna be down this year (how could they not be?) and/or the injury bug may bite again at age 28. I don't like the fact that the Vikes don't have many explosive skill players to take the focus off Peterson, and that Ponder has never caused any defensive coordinators to lose much sleep. Peterson is a violent runner and miraculously avoided any major injuries, but two years in a row? I dunno....Conversely, I like LeSean McCoy's potential in a Chip Kelly offense to get a lot of touches, and become a big play threat. McCoy had problems with concussions last year that robbed him of four games, and a terrible offensive line. The O-line gets an upgrade in the arrival of Lane Johnson. Barring injury, I expect McCoy to possibly surpass the breakout year he had in 2011. I also like the talent around McCoy better, taking some of the heat off of him and the fact that an uptempo offense could catch Eagles' opponents off guard. So am I valid in these considerations or would I be a complete dunce not to take AP? Thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

Forte should be #1 back with receiving stats.

        Yeah, crazy.

AP and/or maybe Drew Brees would always be my first choice.

Also, Peterson is trying to break the rushing record again and I for one do not doubt what that freak athlete can do.

You would take Brees with the number one overall pick? Most mock drafts don't have a single quarterback in the first round, much less the first pick.

It's a PPR league by the way.

Dude gets tons and tons of yards and TD's. AP would be the better choice though.

Brees in 1st Round is insane. 1st pick is criminal.

You are NOT crazy for questioning the forgone conclusion of AP 1st Overall, especially in a PPR league. I don't think McCoy is the guy to be going 1st because no one knows for sure how thiat offense is going to play out, but Doug Martin, CJ Spiller, Trent Richardson, and Jamaal Charles should all get over 50 receptions this year.

However, though he is an old man, he should be on enough HGH to compete for the #1 spot again this year. That offense was 1 dimensional last year and he still went over 2000. Injuries are a concern for every running back, so do the responsible thing and just go Peterson 1st overall. Which running back you take 1st overall is not going to be the deciding factor in your league. Taking Brees first overall would be.

Peterson is the #1 pick. He won't be the best player in fantasy this year but nobody knows who will.

He gets 10+ TDs every year
He runs for 100 yards per game
His ceiling is higher than any Rbs

I'd rather have a mid/late 1st round pick and take CJ Spiller or Trent Richardson.

If you are going to lose your fantasy league, it is not because Peterson was your 1st pick. You will lose because of your picks in rounds 3-10. Focus on those guys.
