#38The best thing the Cards can do is keep it close and put Andy Reid in some time management situation at the end of the game. Maybe if it goes into overtime McNabb will the think game can end in a tie and we'll have some Wrestlemainia style 3 team matchup in the Superbowl.Comment -

#39Granted, they've stepped it up in the post season a bit. Still, they are riding the wave of 9 takeaways in 2 games. 9 takeaways!!! Can they really go into this game expecting the defense to generate 4 or 5 turnovers against a capable Eagles offense? It might happen, but I won't bet on it.
It's a good question. I don't think they need 4 or 5 takeaways to win the game, but how were they able to get these many turnovers? I know that one leading 'philosophy' is that this number will revert towards the mean. But how did they get this many? Have you ever seen Delhomme that bad? How much of that was due to excellent game preparation by the Cards? They had seen something on the film. And exploited it to the max. Remember that the Eagles put the game on McNabb's arm. And he's already thrown four INT's in two games... The Arizona defense has shown that they know how to take out a leading rusher. So I'm not expecting a lot from Westbrook or Buckhalter. That will put the pressure on McNabb, and open the door to turnovers.
There is an interesting parallel to last year's Giants: The Patriots. As we all know, last year's Giants came together when, in week 17, they were able to keep pace with the unbeaten Pats. That was NY's turning point. These Cards took their inspiration from being blown out by the Patriots in week 16. Granted, that was a must-win for New England, and there was absolutely nothing on the line for Arizona, but they still used the frustration after that game to come together and refocus.
As always much is riding on the Cardinals O-line. The way to beat Arizona is to attack Warner. If he has time he has so many targets... He just has to throw it up high and Fitzgerald will come down with it. How are the Eagles going to defend against that?Comment -

#40The Eagles will be playing a zone on third and long and in passing situations so they don't get beat deep on plays to Fitzgerald. More than likely they will have over the top help from a safety. You don't think Jim Johnson will be ready for the "let's throw it up in the air and let Larrry come down with it" play? I am sure defending Fitzgerald was a big part of the defensive gameplan going into this game. He will still get his catches, but the key will be containing him. He will be going up against a much better defensive backfield today. Philly has only given up one passing TD since Thanksgiving.Comment -

#43It happens.
I'm watching a one-on-one with Ken Whisenhunt. Advantage of living in Arizona. He's using all his postseason notes from his time with the Steelers. He made notes of what Cowher told the team each postseason game. To keep the team focused. One thing he told the team at the start of this week is to 'stay out of the ticket business'.
Explanation: 'Everybody will be happy for you and congratulating you, but they want tickets. Stay out of that because it will take away from your focus. Have someone to take care of that for you.'
All in the details.Comment -

Right now, I'm willing to be on McNabb's arm. He is looking sharper and healthier than I can ever remember.

Philly has to have the most stacked secondary in the NFL: Dawkins, Mikell, Samuel, Sheppard all have All-Pro credentials, nevermind that Sheldon Brown is the leading tackler of the corners. If any team in the NFL can match up with Fitzgerald, Boldin, Breaston or whatever package AZ wants to try, the Eagles are the team that can match up. Sure, I still expect Fitz to get extra coverage, but he'll be covered by some of the NFL's best. Combine that with the typical QB pressure that Jim Johnson likes to give and Warner might have a very long day indeed.(My quote reposted from Cheme82's thread)Comment -

#46I'm not counting the Eagles out. I do think that they are overrated and the Cards are underrated. Based on that, the value to me is with the Cards ML. I don't think this game will be close. The team that gets the breaks will win pretty big.Comment -

#47The Giants first TD was a punt return and then score was 20-7 with less than 2 minutes left and the Giants scored a garbage TD, so basically they gave up zero TDS on defense. Also saying they looked mediocre against Minnesota is just ridiculous, Minnesota has the best run defense in the NFL and a much better defense than Arizona!!!! Philly rolls 24-17Comment -

#54LOL keep calling out your "locks" man, but keep your "Eagles suck" private messages to yourself. We will start calling you DAC.
You think I am a big Eagles fan? Nope, I just thought Philly's defense would step up in the first half, and Arizona would self destruct. Kind of like those moments in the 3rd quarter where you were probably considering suicide. Most people here will bet against their favorite teams if they think there is money in it.
I will see you around for superbowl. However the difference will be I will not be drunk and crying if my semi-invested team loses. Have a good one and keep callling out those locks..Comment -
