the most the chargers have lost by on the road this year is 9...and 80% or more of their games have eclipsed 37 points...they also give up a lot of points...do you go with the defense home team or the hot qb and unique attack....cold weather vs. west coast team? hmmmm

I think pit rolls 31-17

Steelers offense is proven in the playoffs(atleast 20 or 21 points in each game with Ben at QB since '05 run)
And id say the chances of the steelers D not showing up is about 5%.
Last time they played Pit literally shut SD down. LT had 57 yards and imo sproles is no-where near the athlete LT is.

Ya, some apparent factors are obviously how will PIT OL hold up(gave 2 sacks last time against SD) and can sproles be the first RB to break 100 yds on the steelers this year.(i think most will agree he will have to for SD to win)

Steelers defense will dominate, as they have all year long. There is a reason Sproles has never been, and will never be, a feature back (and, no, it's not just playing behind LT) ... today, he is going to lose a lot of money for next year's contract when he is exposed for the 3rd down back, one trick pony he really is

ya i mean i love that the guy can contend in the NFL and be successful but he only weighs 180lbs!. Serious durability question, especially since its the playoffs and they are playing pit.

Unless Pit has another season high 13 penalty and/or pit OL deconstructs(which is possible) i think PIT offense will do fine. They had 400+ yards on SD last time.

San Diego will surprise everyone. Rivers is a better QB then Rothlisberger,who is coming off a concussion. Last meeting the Steelers didn't even score a touchdown, and don't forget, that was when the Bolts were not firing on all cylinders. San Diego Defense is steadily improving under Ron Rivera (and his crazy cross-eyes have magical powers), plus they are on a serious roll right now. If the Steelers barely beat an "off" Charger team last visit, how will they play against a team that has everything going right for them. Also, the Chargers missed two FG's last game which would have locked up the win. I think Sproles will be a play maker, Cifers will put the Stealers in poor field position that Rothlisberger will have to throw to get out of and and the Stealers defense will try to stuff the run which should open up the tall Chargers WR's for big plays. I like the Chargers +6.5 here.

Your right man. I think Chargers will explode here. I won't be surprised if they did what Arizona did. Big Ben is playing but I doubt he's 100%. LT had 57 Yds last game, but Sproles is quick and small, a win for revenge isn't bad either. and some places the like is up to 7...I'll take the free TD

No eight-loss team has ever reached the Championship round of the NFL playoffs, and though the Chargers have certainly displayed more strength in the past five weeks than your typical eight-loss team, San Diego still has a couple of fatal flaws the Steelers seem certain to expose. Sproles comes off a nice week against a mediocre Colts run-stopping group, but against a physical Steelers team that rarely if ever lets even the game's best running backs - including Tomlinson - run wild, the diminutive backup figures to come right back down to earth. Meanwhile, Rivers and the San Diego passing game are going to experience the same kinds of problems that they did in the first matchup with Pittsburgh, as the Steelers will give the quarterback little time to get comfortable and throw downfield. As usual, the Pittsburgh "D" will set the tone, and set up Roethlisberger and his attack up for enough short fields that the Steelers' own deficiencies on offense won't make much of a difference.

Look out for the Chargers. They have been here before and are on fire. This game will be close and low scoring like the regular season game. Chargers +6.5.
