[quote=riggs;1385914]Baltimore is as close to the L word as it gets!!!

San Diego at +6 seems nice at first glance but I don't trust these westcoast teams traveling east in January. I hate Norv Turner and San Diego is limping into this one. Pittsburgh stabbed themselves in the foot in their last meeting, they had td's called back on penalties, they missed fg's, and they let up a s*** load of sacks. With said they Doubled San Diego in yardage (over 400 yards of total offense) while San Diego had just over 200 total yards. I don't like the game on the number.

Carolina spanks Arizona, Boldin looks like a no go, or limited at best, not that it would matter anyway.

Finnaly saying something smart Riggs. I like Pittsburg because the last two teams the played could not spell D.

Baltimore can stop the run and make Collins try to win it. The RB for the Titans is a rookie too. Everybody is Baltimore but this one is hard to cape for real

I have a rather high IQ, I hope I've added some intelligent conversations elsewhere??? That is, if you excuse my potty mouth!!!

By the way, it's finally not finnaly.

            Baltimore Ravens @ Tennessee Titans

Ok, before we look at anything I think Tennessee deserves a lot of credit for what they accomplished this year. 13-3 is a hell of a record for that team, how many of us honestly had them pegged for that kind of a year? I thought Tennessee would be 8-8 at best! Baltimore had strong year too at 11-5 with the same stout defense they’ve always had, a young but very solid coach, and a rookie under center. I think most of us predicted 10 wins for this Ravens team with their defense alone. So here they are now the hottest team in football, coming into Tennessee after absolutely destroying the Dolphins on the road. This should be a great game to watch, Old School Football Baby, I love it!!!

Before I even think about placing a wager on a game, the first thing I like to do is check out the injury report. Baltimore comes into this one relatively healthy, with players who haven’t been sitting on their hands for the past 20 days!!! The same can not be said for the Titans. I know Vandenbosch & Hanyesworth are expected to give it a go (and these guys deserve a lot of credit for doing so, considering all the pansies in the league who wouldn’t) but there’s no way in hell they’re anywhere near 90 or 100 percent healthy, especially Hanyesworth. Linebacker David Thornton (who’s a hell of a player) is also banged up but will probably play. D-End Dave Ball will miss the game indefinitely. But the most significant injury that very few people are discussing is Kevin Mawae. Anyone who’s played the game or knows anything about football knows that games are won & lost up front at the line of scrimmage. I had the pleasure of watching Mawae play with the Jets for multiple seasons, and let me tell you, this guy plays the center position better than anyone in the game. Believe me, this injury is HUGE!!!

With that said, no one should place a bet on a team or against a team just based on injuries alone. Lets look at some other keys to this game. We have a seasoned veteran in Collins up against the impressive rookie Flacco (2nd half of the season Joe). In their 1st meeting both QB’s had days to forget, although Flacco was 18-27 which isn’t too bad and the Titans failed to register one sack. Flacco did throw two picks trying to make things happen offensively though. But since then Flacco’s been very good. Flacco’s got a laser for an arm and over the past 9 weeks he’s thrown 13td’s and 5int’s, and in total (statistically) has actually had a much better year than Collins in the second half. I believe Flacco is the first rookie quarterback to ever win a playoff game on the road. So even with Collins experience I don’t give Tennessee too much of an edge here, especially considering the weapons both men have to throw the ball too. Who the f*** scares you on Tennessee stretching the field??? Brandon Jones??? Come on. Baltimore has much better targets in Heap, Mason, and Clayton (not even close). Plenty of Tennessee backers will point to the Titans two headed monster backfield. Though, can you really see these two guys running on Baltimore? I cant, and they wont. Both of these guys (the rookie and that fat f***) combined rushed for under 50 yards vs. the Ravens. On the other side, the Ravens backs ran for well over 100 yards on Tennessee. That’s another thing, people are severely over looking the efficiency of this Ravens offense this year. They’re putting up a ton of points, compared to past seasons, nearly 26 a game.

Defense. Defense keeps teams in games and as I say “defense can win championships.” There’s no defense in the league people fear more than this Ravens squad, filled with ball hawks, who punch you in the mouth and leave you for dead by the end of the game. The Ravens have played well on the road this year too, 7-2 after last week. Titans are no slouch at home though, so this should be somewhat of a low scoring affair. I really like Jeff Fisher as a coach, but I hate the decision he made to rest his starters last game, it’s the wrong move and recent history proves me and others correct who have brought up this valid point. Take Indy for example, they lost this year and last year after resting their starters in week 17. Look what happened to the Steelers and the Bucs last year after resting their starters week 17. This trend goes back at least 5 years if you research it, these teams are like 5-15, look it up yourself. Titans haven’t seen the field in 14 days, and the starters haven’t played a full game or a meaningful game for that matter since Pittsburgh, 20 days ago!!! With all this in mind, there’s no way I can bet the Titans here.

Score Prediction: Baltimore 20, Tennessee 16

Saturday’s Play: Baltimore Ravens +135 (ML) *20 Units

Other Games (Short, Sweet, & Right to the Point)

Arizona @ Carolina: No way Arizona competes in this one. Panthers run all over this westcoast desert squad, Smith and Muhammed exploit the secondary on play action with ease, and Julius Peppers knocks Warner out early with a concusion. Carolina wins BIG!!! I like Carolina -10 for 5 Units, and have them teased at a pick em.

Philadelphia @ New York: Hardest game to cap, ugly line, not touching it on the number. This game will be decided by 1-7 points, either way. Both teams know each other too well. The Giants will probably win this game by a late fg. The Giants do have a big advantage in the kicking game. Akers sucks in Giants stadium!!! With that said I'm playing Philly +14 in a teaser.

San Diego @ Pittsburgh: God do I hate Norv Turner, don't trust the team, never have, probably never will. Chargers are banged up, gimping into this one without Tomlinson and distractions in the locker room now. If Pittsburgh makes this a close a contest they're a national disgrace. Pittsburgh severly outplayed this team in their last meeting, gaining over 200 yards more of total offense. Too many penalties and lost opportunities. It wont happen again!!! Not playing it on the number though, Pitt +4 in a teaser.

That's it folks, cant wait to start cursing my head off tomorrow!!!

Even if Baltimore gets dropped tomorrow, which I don't see happening, I won't be upset with the bet I made, because I know it's the right bet. There's RLM in this one as well, books dropping it to 2.5, praying to get more action on Tennessee.

Why??? IMO the Ravens have a much more balanced offense than Tennessee. Much better targets to throw to, they're not handing the ball off to inexperienced rookies and fat slobs, their QB has a frozen rope for an arm, the O-Line has played excellent this year.

Vincent Jackson created a nice distraction (DWI) for this team at the perfect time, their veteran leader (LT) won't be playing in this one, and Gates is walking around with a gimp. Oh yeah, and Norv Turner heads up that locker room.

                              Titans fan here, so beware.

Ball is most likely out, but that is pretty irrelevant with KVB back, and Jacob Ford is actually a better back up to be honest. Ball is very similar to KVB in that they play really well against the run, where as Ford is more of a speed rusher. Ford has 7 sacks this year in limited duty and Ball has 4.5 when he has basically played all season in place of KVB. While Ball would be nice to have, as long as Kearse and KVB are healthy, Ford will be fine keeping the starters fresh.

Not only do the Titans bring back Haynesworth for this game, but they also get back Kevin Vickerson from suspension. (Banned diuretic... He chose to take his suspension unlike the Williams guy's because he knew he wasn't crucial part of the team and Titans were already in the playoffs.) Vickerson and Jason Jones will keep Haynesworth fresh and it's also possible to see Jason Jones at DE... He did register 3.5 sacks vs the Steelers when big Albert was out.

Keep in mind that the Ravens will try to pound the ball and then try to take 4-5 deep shots down the feild either to Mason or more than likely Clayton. That is basically their offense. Sure they will try some crossing routes with Heap, but he doesn't get targeted as much as he should, IMO. Keep in mind that the Titans have only given up 2 plays through the air of over 30 yards. I wouldn't bet on them completing any of these deep shots with Griffin playing over the top of Clayton all day long. Hope will be playing in the box.

The only way the Ravens score a TD is by means of special teams, on a defensive TD or by their defense giving them a short field. I cannot see the Ravens driving the ball over 60 yards and finding the endzone. Their offense just isn't dynamic enough vs a stout defense like the Titans possess.

I see a very low scoring game and the Titans edging this one out by a FG or a TD.

Forgot to add that I have no clue why Thorton is listed as questionable, he hasn't missed practice this week...

Mawae injury does scare me a bit, but keep in mind that Mawae left the Pittsburgh game pretty early on and he faired well against that "top" defense.

Again, I am biased I know, but remember that Baltimore has only beaten two teams that made the playoffs this season. The Eagles in a game where McNabb got benched and the wind was pretty ridiculous and they beat the Phins twice, whose gimmick offense faded very bad late in the season.

                              Beware.

Lol, if you think that experience has much to do with the running back position you are clearly missing the point. McClain is basically a rookie himself and idk if McGahee has ever played in a playoff game before last week.

                                Experience.

As much as I'd like to watch a competitive game tonight, I just don't see it happening.

Cant wish you luck on today's plays for obvious reasons, but I wish you luck with all your future plays!!!

I'd like your teaser better with Baltimore +13 instead of Pitt or actually switching it to SD +16. But I am a rook and I like the rest of your plays.

Damn i think everyone is underestimating the odds.

Is it just me is everyone underrating Arizona again, just like against ATL. Defense is formed by Ken Wisenhunt who is from the PITT steelers, he knows what they are going to have to do stop Car. Can they do it? I believe so if you watched the ATL game, Ariz played perfect gap control. if they do this no way will carolina win because JAKE DELHOME WILL BE GOING HOME, cuz he can never win a game when its all on him. Kurt Warner can, he has done it before, I believe Edge will run well today because he has something to prove for another contract and he isnt selfish he wants to win. I believe Cards will pull the big upset with the spread.......but i am even thinkin ML

Giants should win that game by 1-7 points. SD at +7 looks safe, don't like Arizona at all, and you know where I stand with the Ravens game.

my biggest prob with ravens was last week once Miami realized they couldn't run they start throwing underneath and taking chunks of 10yrds per pass. BUT once the field got shorter for Miami and they were close to the red zone the safetys were close it was easier for someone like Reed to step up and pick one. Plus with pennington practically throwing underhand i could have done my taxes, grabbed a burger and still picked that pass. With Collins at QB (mind you i dont like Tenn as a team to root for) i think he doesnt make the critical mistakes Chad made with his sub par throws. Collins has a better supporting cast and a better arm.

My biggest concern is at the center position and that could come to bite me in the ass.

My big play is SD (who i also cant stand) but just dont see Pitt covering more than 4 points.

Keven Mawae is the best center in the game, no one can convince me otherwise!!! Chad Pennington is a great game manager, Kerry Collins couldn't shine Chad's shoes. Collins (if he gets the time) can throw a better deep ball than Chad, but that's not saying much.

I'm so sick of hearing people compare Tennessee to the Giants. The Squads aren't even close to the same level. Giants are a much better team, and they'll win that game tomorrow. People don't like to lay 4 in a game between two teams who play each other tight. That's it, there's no comparrison between the two games at all.

No matter what the mode of travel was, however, the fact is that these teams are evenly matched at this stage of the year, with two terrific defenses and running games preparing to collide in what should be a physical, low-scoring affair. The Titans are a little better than the Ravens offensively, while Baltimore enjoys a slight nod over Tennessee on the other side of the ball. If you subscribe to the theory that defense wins championships, the smart money is on the Ravens this week, especially when considering that the Titans have some health issues on the defensive line.

All the trends are there and I'll be posting my write ups soon. Two of the games this week (Sunday's games) are ugly IMO, and rather tough to cap on the line. I have slight leans to Philly +4 and San Diego +6. But cant say that I trust either team. San Diego is a westcoast team traveling east to play in the snow, in 20 degree temps and I could easily see the Giants winning by 6-7 points in that game. I'm going to try something different this week, I'm going to play the games straight up on Saturday and a try something I usually never advocate, a "10-point-special-teaser" for Sunday with one Saturday game thrown in the mix. 3 Plays for 30 Units. Let's get to it.
