I hear much talk of public and how they are betting....How is public determined in vegas, online etc... Just would like simple answer.... thanks

That is wrong! Such a ****ing misconception! Let me disabuse you on and tell you the truth. Smog, I read you saying you are a student so here is something for you to learn. Vegas sets a line to whcih they think they will get 50/50 action on both sides. They do not shade to one side or try to "outsmart the public" That is far from the truth. If vegas has a game where 80% is on one side and that side wins they just see it as a bad line, however they adjust and know that they will also win the game that has 80% on the wrong side. The goal is to have even action on both sides. SDo not forget to include the ML money that is being bet. If -3 has 80% on it, it is offset if there is 65% on the ML for the underdog because of the vig and what money they may have to payout. Am I making sense? I hope this helps/Comment -

sorry Smaog, I didnt realize that I had used profanity, I was a little tipsy and I guess I was tired of hearing the same thing about Vegas. Sorry about that. BUt what I said is true, I should have left out the vulgarity.
