I'm calling it now...diehard Charger fan for nearly 30 years...bottom 3 team in the NFL this year. Rivers still regressing and is not only clumsy, but older and goofier, receivers getting worse, Gates getting older, interracial runningback bust can't stay healthy, defense sucks.

The San Diego media was jerking itself for signing Dwight Freeney 5 years past his prime. 3-13 this year. Fade for profit.

Huge Chargers fan too, but it doesn't look pretty especially with Peyton in the division now and Oak/KC actually getting a little better. Uggggh

what's really sad is that our fans STILL think Rivers is good. Some won't even admit that letting Brees go was a mistake. Unreal.

Rivers has had very little protection in front of him. He's been sacked 117 times in the last 3 seasons, including 49 last year. What QB could prosper in that environment?

A qb who can move his feet or have less than a 3 second release...in other words, any other qb in the nfl

The SD offensive line was the worst in the NFL last year in pass protection, and Ryan Mathews is weak in protection as well. Sacks and knockdowns are the responsiblity of the offensive line and RB/TE in protection 90% of the time, not the QB. Put the blame where it belongs.

Unfortunately, the OL didn't get much better. Fluker is overrated and slow, vulnerable to the speed rush off the edge. King Dunlap was signed to add depth and looks to be the starting LT after SD failed to sign a legit #1 option. Danny Woodhead will help a fair bit in passing downs, but Rivers will be vulnerable again this year.
