NFL Super Bowl L Selection Committee Picking City to Host the Big Game in 2016
Three cities are vying for that honor: Miami, San Francisco, and Houston.
    And the winner is...

    San Francisco.

49ers may very well win it all that year, too.

Of all cities, why is SF such a huge NFL town? Just something that never made sense to me.

That may be the perception outside of Frisco. But I can assure you, the two Bay Area teams - Raiders and 9ers - have some of the most avid fans that live and breathe football. SF's fanbase is distinctly different though; it's a mixture of sportsminded nerds, liberals, gays, and heterosexuals that around here still talk about the 9ers' 1980's glory years...almost as if it happened yesterday. The current 9ers team only rekindles the memories. Personally, I'm not a fan of either SF or Oakland which makes for some "watch what you say" conversation when viewing a game with the natives.
