I'm a huge Colts fan and live in Indy so let me get that out of the way!
The Colts had to be looking forward to flying to Denver this weekend but they're now given a much bigger task here! Peyton Manning has been laser sharp lately and the Chargers 31st ranked pass defense has struggled all year so expect the Colts to have little problem moving the ball! One thing the Colts struggle with from time to time is short yardage w/their struggling running game and smaller O-line devoted to pass blocking most of the time! The Colts would be better suited to go w/ Dom Rhodes than Addai on those (or more play-action) since Rhodes is more of a power runner! Defensively, the Colts are more inconsistent and no MLB Gary Brackett here really hurts! Too many 7-8 minute drives this year which really takes away the advantage a hot Peyton can give them! The defense played horribly vs Jacksonville last Thursday for 3 quarters...giving Garrard time to pickup a rhythm and tackling like drunks dropping their keys at closing time when it came to MoJoDrew! Once again they rallied in the 4th to win the game but lets not confuse Jax's talent on offense to San Diego's either!
I see another close game w/maybe a few more explosive plays then last time these 2 met! I trust the Colts will make a few more plays defensively in the end. I'm more afraid of Sproles in the return game or getting downfield w/screens or draws than LT at this point in their careers! Phillip Rivers is pretty good in his own right but I'll take my chances w/Freeney & Mathis running him down compared to the weak rush SD brings without Merriman!
Bottom line is the Colts are road tested and we still owe SD! They've got new life and alot of talent on offense too! I'll probably layoff this game myself although Over could be strong? I can't see either team getting held below 24?
