    Line/Unit Method ????
not totally helpless, understand the spread, moneyline, o/e...but i just came across UNITS?

    sample a:
    4-3
    +4.75 units

    sample b:
NCAA BK: 2-4-2 for -3.2 units
NCAA FB: 4-3 for +4.2 units
    NFL: 5-3 for +7.5 units
    NBA: 6-5 for +1.8 units

(i would guess a unit is 100, however the the dollar amount don't add up)

    thks

    I don't understand your question.

    A unit is NOT 100.

What most people who post picks do is use a standard 1 unit size, and use risking 1 unit on dogs and to win 1 unit on favs. The tally + or - is the total of all wins and losses calculated using the odds layed/taken.

So, say the capper posts two plays. Both on the moneyline:
    Game 1. Team A +170 ML 1 to win 1.70 units
    Game 2. Team B -120 ML 1.2 to win 1 units

Now, say that Game 1 wins and Game 2 loses, then the tally is:
    Game 1 won 1.7 units
    Game 2 loss -1.2 units
    total .5

    So the record would be
    1-1 +.5 units
