How about taking KC Moneyline Vs the Bengals? KC has played in close games with teams that are still in playoff contention so I think they are the better team here. The only consideration maybe that a win would cost them the #2 draft pick. I don't know who has the tie-breaker between the Rams and the Chiefs. In any case, is that ever a consideration in how teams play at this time of the year? My feeling is that when they have nothing on the line, they play to win because it creates good momentum going into the off season. If you know the teams, let us know what you think.

#2This is an almost impossible game to bet on, as both teams would benefit more long term by losing.Comment -

#3Is it really that big a deal - getting second or third in the draft? I know the Rams will likely end up with 2 wins. If the Chiefs beat the Bengals, they will each have 3 wins ( I am sure Cleveland is somewhere in the picture too). So, who knows what the tie-breakers are between the Rams, Bengals, Browns and Chiefs? In any case, does anyone know of an instance in the past where a team has thrown a game deliberately due to draft positioning. I think the Chiefs are a great value here as an underdog because they have competed well with playoff bound teams such as the Broncos, Chargers and the Dolphins. They kept losing to those teams because they couldn't hang on to the lead. I doubt they will have much trouble doing that with the Bengals. This line is inflated because the Bengals have won 2 straight and they are at home. Aside from the draft considerations, there is another factor at play in judging the Chiefs' motivation level. If they lose to the Bengals, they will have tied the worst record in the team's history. I don't believe too many players and coaches would like the infamy of such a record to mark their careers. I say the Chiefs come out hard to get a win and get it!Comment -

#4The concept of "this team should try to lose to get a higher draft pick" only makes sense to those who are not a part of reality. Players and coaches looking to secure jobs for the next season aren't interested in tanking a game on purpose to (in theory) set up the future, and the concept of rooting for the home team to lose is foreign to most people.
Besides, with the way the salary cap works now, having a higher draft pick too many years in a row (I'm looking at you, Cincinnati Bengals!) kills your cap. It's the teams that draft well in the later rounds that will do well in following seasons, not the ones who occasionally hit a home run in round one.Comment
