Fan arrested for tackling Patriots LB Seau
BOSTON (Ticker) -- An over-enthusiastic fan was arrested after jumping out of the stands and tackling New England Patriots linebacker Junior Seau in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 47-7 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
According to the Boston Globe, Todd Kobus, 31, was arraigned Sunday night in Wrentham District Court on charges of trespassing and assault and battery.
"The subject jumped over the wall and proceeded to tackle Junior Seau," Foxborough Police Deputy Chief John Chandler told the Globe.
Seau said after the game that he initially thought it was a teammate joking around, but soon realized it was a fan in street clothes.
Kobus, who pleaded not guilty, was ordered by the court to stay away from Gillette Stadium.
