    Bust The Books 12/21/08
This Sunday has a lot of very tight action. Last Nights (12/18) action between the Colts and the Jags was a really tight one but the Colts eeked it out. This Saturday has a tough one between the Ravens and the Cowboys. If I had to pick, Baltimore plus the points would be the play but I won't touch that.

With that being said, Here are my Picks.

    Houston Texans-7
    Oakland Raiders 43.5

I like the Texans in this one, they're back at .500 and they're facing Oakland. Oakland seems like they can't hold on to the ball. Always finding a way to turn it over. The Texans came off another BIG win, and are on a 4 game win streak. Those 4 victories were won by an average of 6.75 Points. After Oakland's beat down by the hands of the Patriots, their defense has been exposed even more, not that it hasn't already. Seeing that the Texans are hot right now and are about to win their 5th straight. I think I'll ride with them. Who here thinks the right pick would be to fade the Texans? Not me. I think their momentum is even higher after their win against Tennessee.

Pick: Houston Texans-6.5 (Buy the Half to get off that Key #)
Final Score Prediction: Houston 38, Oakland 13

    San Francisco-5
    St.Louis 43

I've always paid attention to the NFC West. Last week's pick on the Over between Seattle and St.Louis was a winner for me. And this week is no different as 2 more NFC West teams battle. Both teams have no defense, and both can score pretty well. Both teams aren't in the playoffs. This is going to be a shootout.

    Pick: Over 43
Final Score Prediction: San Francisco 34, St.Louis 20

    Arizona 45
    New England-8

New England needs another win to keep pace with the rest of the AFC East. Arizona has already clinched because of their weak division. I doubt they can play away from home, even if they played at home they got stomped on by the Vikings. I live in Rhode Island (very close to Gillette Stadium, bout 25 mins away) and wow is it snowing badly right now, about 13 inches of snow. Even if the snow doesn't keep up i doubt a desert team can compete in this kind of weather, but then again it's Matt Cassel's first snow game.
I really think it doesn't matter to be honest. I think the Patriots will dominate in this one, and hopefully the Cardinals remove their players and get ready for the playoffs since they won't need this.

    Pick: New England Patriots
Final Score Prediction: Patriots 27, Cardinals 10

    WEATHER UPDATE AS OF 12/21/08 @ 10AM
Snow ss falling hard and is expected to be falling thought game time. I expect a one sided game here as Arizona will probably take out their starters before halftime.

    New Orleans-7
    Detroit 50

New Orleans and Detroit are out of the playoffs and Detroit is in need of a win or else they'll face Green Bay @ Green Bay to see if they really do make history. Orlovsky didn't look hurt last week as he gave Peyton Manning's colts a fight to the finish. That game was closer than the score looks, and the Total went far over. Detroit has no defense and has been playing well as of late, losing all of course but playing well or not, the total still seems to soar right over.
No weather factor involved and its in a dome. Detroit at home and hasn't been more hungrier this season for a win. I don't expect them to win this game but i won't be surprised if they came out on top. I think the lions will jump out early and hold an early lead. It would be all up to Drew Brees to lead the Saints back but we all know how Brees is when his team is down. He forces turnovers and it is costly. Like I said, I won't be surprised if the lions get their first win but I'm going to lay off the sides. Even though this game doesn't mean anything it is a pretty big one.

    Pick: Over 50
Final Score Prediction: Lions 33, Saints 27

I like your over in the Lions Saints game. I know you aren't betting the side.... but I just wanted to say that I don't see the Lions covering here. The game is in the dome and the Saints love the dome. The Saints don't have a whole lot to play for (out of the playoffs)..... except to NOT be the team that the Lions beat.

MY Prediction is Saints 45 Lions 21

Like I said..I do like the Saints to win but If the lose to the Lions I won't be surprised. If the Saints get down early, and even though anyone can come back on the Lions. I still think it would be hard to do so.
