Who does this benefit? Probably the team with the better running game

Rain is less of a problem than wind, and the wind isn't too bad today. Both Stafford and Cutler have very strong arms, so I would think the impact would be minimal on their performance. Megatron and Marshall are both guys that make plays in tough conditions.

As for the Bears running game, their performance has been only average so far this year. The Bears rushing is currently ranked 16th via advanced stats, while the Lions are ranked 9th. Among conventional stats, the Bears gain about 25 more yards per game via rushing, but also average 5 more carries per game. Both teams are hovering around 4ypc on the season with 5 rushing touchdowns. Pretty evenly matched overall...

Any edge you think the Bears have on the ground is imagined...

Except for fact Bears have best rush defense in the league.

No, they don't... Again, conventional stats don't give an accurate assessment of teams. The Lions are 9th in rush defense, and the Bears are 12th via advanced stats that correct for opponents faced. Both have only allowed 1 rushing TD this year. The biggest difference is in opponents attempts per game, where opponents run the ball 7 more times a game against the Lions, and get about 31 more yards per game. The Bears have also been playing with a lead a lot so far this year, so their opponents naturally have been passing more and running less. Don't just look at that 65 yards per game stat and think that proves anything through 5 games...

I respectfully disagree. WIND usually means under. I've seen games in the rain plenty of times where the scoreboard is lit up. Strong wind is what lessens the ability to pass. It's not supposed to be windy in Chicago tonight
