Handicapping is an art. Most of the touts on here aren't actual handicappers. They are simply salesmen out to sell picks. They don't care who wins as long as someone buys.

It's not luck. It's not magic. It's just math.

(Well, OK, and a little luck!)

It is a small margin even for the best handicappers in the world. Weeks of losing go by and I have to remind myself I have grinded out a small edge for 20+ years and have to keep putting in the research.

The difference between a life long winner and loser is inscrutable to the untrained eye. It is a very subtle edge that requires a significant sample size to realize. The small edge makes line shopping, jumping on openers and beating the closers, proper money management and saving winnings to increase your br and unit size all the more important.
