Looks like Matthews is almost completely out of the doghouse after a strong performance against the hapless Saints last week - 80 yards on just 12 carries. All indications are that his workload could be closer to 20 carries or better tonight. That's good news against a Denver rush D gauged by New England last week for 250 yards. The Texans pounded them for 152. Even if SD does throw it quite a bit, Matthews should be sprinkled in enough to give this a shot. If SD keeps the lead, all the better as they will likely be looking to grind some clock and keep Manning on the sidelines.
