basic maths help for noob

hello
basically need help with the easiest way to work out which odds is the correct one to take

if i have the probability of a key number occurring, and can bet on either side of that key number at different odds.

eg
the key number is 5, i can bet -4.5 @ -125 or i can bet -5.5 @ -111 (just an example)

the probability of the margin being 5 is say 1%.

How do i work out which bet is the correct one to make?

which sport? basketball or football? i assume basketball because 5 sure isn't a key number in football...

sbr has a half-point calculator found here...just change your league and your point spread and it will show you what each half-point should cost.
