Difference between under 9 and under 8.5?
    Hello,
I noticed that odds for baseball game under 8.5 is more than odds for under 9, but aren't they basically the same?
    Thanks

      Hi,

No, if you call the under 8.5 or the under 9, and the score was say 3-2 then yes both would win. However, if the final score were 5-4 or 8-1 or any other score that equaled 9, your under 8.5 bet would lose. Whereas your under 9 bet would "push". A push is essentially a tie and results in you getting your bet money back, but not winning any extra.

9 is an important # due to 4-4 ball games.

7 and 9 are key numbers in bases.

They account for 20% of the total runs scored in all bases ball games.

Ah man I remember the early years. Some of the greatest and crappiest moments in my gambling career. Start small and ditch that pick service once the freebies end. Learn all you can about what you bet on.

Good luck. It can be a lot of fun

                      Thanks

You get your money back IF it lands on 9 and you bet UNDER 9. You lose if it lands on 9 and you bet UNDER 8.5

Therefore, try to work out the chance it lands on exactly 9 to work out which proposition is best. Hint: odd totals are more common in MLB as even totals often go to extra innings
