It's no secret that online gambling is illegal. However, I was just wondering what type of risk I face if I gamble online using a reputable sportsbook, such as bodog. What's the chance that I actually get into legal trouble?

I'm no expert, but you don't have a response yet so I will repeat what I have gleaned from the internet and this forum on this subject. It doesn't seem there is much chance at all that you would get into legal trouble for this. It is basically a situation where it is decriminalized -- that is, they don't seek to prosecute anybody for it.
Instead they just try to stop financial institutions from completing the actual transactions to get your money back and forth. I think I remember reading somewhere that the only person to incur legal troubles just for placing bets was indirect -- he got in legal trouble for not paying taxes on his winnings.Comment -
