So, I have a question about using the "free picks of the day" or the "value picks" that are posted daily:
Is there any accountability for these picks? I've been watching for a little while, to see how often the picks actually hit, and days like today make me hesitant to use this site at all:
Sun, Nov 11:
NFL: the picks were 4-7-1 (with Mon night game to go)
NBA: the picks were 2-2 (1-3 if you consider one game needed OT to cover)
NHL: the picks were 0-6 (triple pack, plus Isles/Habs, Oilers/Hawks, Canucks/Ducks)
Does that just signify a bad beat day, or are the free picks intended to be poor to steer people to pay for the "pro picks"? The way the write-ups are worded, they sound like a lot of thought & analysis went into them.
Luckily I didn't follow these blindly and was able to come out with a winning day, but I imagine there might be less statistic-savvy people than myself who see these as at least semi-expert picks. So my question is: where's the accountability and/or where are the real experts?
