    Sports betting and Roulette
Hello, I'm fairly new to sports betting (just started 2 weeks ago).
I bet primarily on college football and the NFL, however these past couple days (with no football on) I've taken up betting on roulette. I always play roulette in Vegas and usually win about $300 a night, my wife plays the outside while I play the inside. However, these past days I've earned about $75 off roulette, which is a lot of money for me.
I am very strict when it comes to betting on Roulette, being that most of my bankroll is set aside for sports betting. I bet 4-8 dollars a day and stop at increments of $5, which means If I earn $45, I will stop betting if I hit $40.

My question is; am I just having a lucky streak or is playing roulette while sports betting a good idea?
Also, should I keep it up if I strictly only bet $4-8 a day?

I'm 8-6 in sports betting right now, 4-0 in O/U.
Also, I have a fairly small bankroll compared to most of ya'll, this mostly for fun and no sure profit! I want it to last so I make small bets.

    -Thanks for your feedback.

Roulette is a very simple game. It doesn't matter what you do or how you mix bets you are always facing a 5.28% house edge. This compares to a 1.5% for the typical blackjack player (about 0.5% with perfect strategy). and just over a percent in craps if you know what you are doing (basically an even money game if you have money to bet odds - and if the casino allows).

So to answer your question - you can't beat Roulette, it is luck. You can expect over a billion spins to give up 5 cents on every dollar. Sounds like you are pretty lucky, hopefully that translates into some backdoor covers for you in sports betting.

I would stick to sports betting and poker, those can be beaten. Any other games in the casino you are always giving up some (except blackjack if you count cards and video poker if you find the right machine.)

I do really like the comparison to roulette and I use it a lot to explain sports betting in this sense. In sports betting, the goal is to gain an edge on every single game that you bet. Then every time you spin the wheel you have the advantage rather the casino. So, work hard to gain your edge and keep spinning the wheel my friend.

    Good Day,

    -Red
