Hi there. So does, for example, in the NHL, having a team like Boston, and having them on a little streak right now...would having a bet on the next boston game against Team B be a wise thing to do? Or do you like to look at every game at hand, and treat it induvidually? Whats your style? I like betting soccer (im from UK) and done very well these past two years, making a nice little fortune. But, personally, for any sport, i've never liked trends or streaks, as they don't tell me anything...what do you think? Is it enough for you to go on?

        Pretty BIG of course!

(On a more serious note: Don't post in the Newbie section, go to other sections of sbr. You won't get much answers here)

Betting streaks is not a business you want to get in to. Many studies have looked at this in terms of game winning streaks or "the hot hand" in terms of players, etc, but no one has been able to show anything. Each game should be treated individually.

One of the problems is how do you stay when a streak starts? When it ends? There is nothing to go on. The best way to bet streaks is to keep an eye on the betting line and where it moves. If you start seeing lines move heavily toward teams who are on streaks there could be some great opportunities on the other side.

Welcome to the forum, I am new here too.

                        Good day,
