New to sports betting. Have questions. Need help please
Hello, I am new here so i decided to post in this section. I watch alot of basketball so i thought why not profit off it? Anyways, to my questions. I plan to start with a 100 dollar deposit and i was wondering whats a safe bet per game?
What stats do you guys research to make your choice? Do you guys bet against the spread or over/under?
Also, i tried googling some point spread explanations but didn't understand it. I know there is the whole +5 -5 point spread. I know the underdog is detonated by the + and the other by -. Does the +5 mean the underdog can win by more than 5 points or lose by less than 5? The -5 means they have to win by more than 5 right?

$10 will get you some action. no need to protect $100. if your serious - so the spread is -5/+5, if you take the team getting +5 they must lose by less than 5, if you take the team giving -5 they must win by more than 5. if the final result ties the spread it is a push/cancelled wager and everyone gets theyre risk amount back. you sound a little to sharp. most gamblers are complete penetrating degenerate morons with no self discipline.

The underdog means that they just can't lose by 5. If the dog wins straight-up, you win your bet. The majority of bettors on here play both sides and totals, and there are a ton of stats guys use to pick which bets seem the most beneficial to take advantage of. Like previously stated, $10 to start off sounds like a good starting point. Good luck.

if the underdog wins straight up then I win my bet. What does that mean? So the under dog has to lose by less than the point spread or can they win by more than the spread?

In the example above, if the underdog loses by less than 5 (which includes winning the game SU, since winning is obviously considered losing by less than 5.) then they have covered the spread.
