Auburn accused of point shaving. Link to ESPN article inside.
Federal authorities are investigating suspended Auburn point guard Varez Ward for alleged point shaving involving in at least two games this season, Yahoo Sports reported Thursday.

I read the article on ESPN. It alleged point shaving in 2 games.

With that said, one of the games was Auburn/Arkansas. Auburn covered and the player accused of point shaving only played 19 seconds. That doesn't make any sense.

The other game was against Alabama. Auburn did not cover that game and the accused player played horribly.

I still laugh when people think that this doesn't happen that often. It probably happens every day in NCAA hoops considering there are over 300 teams and many of the players are broke college kids.

I'll quote myself from an earlier thread regarding this

tragic- but you're kidding yourself if you don't think some level of gerrymandering is going on in every single f@#kin' game (imho).

And you're kidding yourself if you think every one of your losses is due to this "gerrymandering". 99% of games have nothing to do with Vegas intervening.

hahahahahahahah don't get me wrong, mr. doughnut! I'm not blaming anybody! I just don't think we have any idea about the intricate lattice of influence that exists underneath the surface of competitive sports.

I wish Auburn would have been poor shaving against Hawaii earlier this year.

Again, I don't see how they can accuse this guy of point shaving against Arkansas when he played 19 seconds.

Auburn is so bad it would be had I decipher point shaving and them sucking.

Not sure, but I liked it haha. Either way, we will agree to disagree I guess. Though we will never really know the answer.

when I think of "vegas", I think about the elaborate, underground network of bookies, players, syndicates, and gangsters out there pushing pawns into place, and continually makin' moves. maybe I'm an insane conspiracy theorist, but I'm realistic enough to admit that I don't know the half of it.

Players are sometimes dumb enough to get caught. Percentage wise, Refs almost never get caught.

Wonder when they'll open up an investigation on Colorado. Their point-shaving against Utah last night was about the most obvious case I've seen in the 18 years I've been following this sport.

I can't agree with you more! They both knew that 12 would be the number too... once they had it...no more fouling!
