I don't believe in fixes, but...
I do believe that one referee in particular either does influence games in a fixed manner or simply just STRONGLY leans his calls towards the home team. The worst single ref I've seen this year was in Villanova vs Notre on Feb 18th... by TIM HIGGINS. He literally was visibly upset by a shot clock violations which was plain as day, but had to go over to the other two refs to discuss it, it was incredible. He swallowed the whistle when Notre Dame was on offense, unless it was a charging call, he was overly demonstrative. I couldn't believe it.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, I went back and watched the end of the Rutgers/St John's game in the Big East tournament last year, which had a very controversial ending and some poor calls at the end. And guess what? Mr Tim Higgins was a ref in that contest too. Nobody left the court quicker than him that day.

It's something to keep an eye on, and we should all probably make ourselves aware of when he is about to take the court.

Tim Higgins has a long history as one of the worst refs in college basketball.

Hmmm wasn't aware of that, possibly it is just the case of him being inept then, but still I think there could even be more to it after watching those two games in particular.

Just pray you're on the right side of his fix!

You're not necessarily wrong, I've long considered the possibility that Tim Higgins is the Tim Donaghy of college basketball. Some of the calls this man has made over the years are just criminal. That traveling/out of bounds no call at the end of the St. John's/Rutgers tourney game last year was unreal.

That out of bounds call was inexcusable.

Not to mention the fact that the guy took about 6 steps before even going out of bounds. Somebody in that officiating crew had money on St. John's.

It was Higgins. Lol I'm convinced. Anybody know where to find listing of upcoming referee assignments?

tim higgins is as crooked as they come, him and jim burr both. I could name countless incidents involving this guy. Remember the 2011 big east tourney game rutgers/johnnies??? After the game he "voluntarily" withdrew himself from the rest of the tournament

SASH, I forgot about Jim Burr. He's just as awful.

I remember when I was a student at Pitt in the front row of the student section and we started heckling Higgins after a few terrible calls....he actually heckled us back.

Do you know if Higgins is reffing the Big East Tournament this year? Hard to believe they'd assign him after last year's fiasco.

Well like I said, he did ref a game just a couple weeks ago in the BIG EAST, so he was obviously forgiven. We need to find this info, and then guess who he is on! lol

If anything though, we would for sure know by halftime who he is on and then proceed from there in the second half.

Im guessing you read my post in another thread http://forum.sbrforum.com/ncaa-baske...-ever-wow.html
where i posted the Rutgers/st johns video. College refs are independent contractors making up to around a grand a game depending on conference and experience, it only makes sense they would fix to make more money. WHere as NBA officials are employed by the league.

Donaghy actually filed a lawsuit against the NBA saying that the 2002 western conference finals game 6 was fixed by Stern and the NBA to let it go to a game 7, so they would collect more revenue.

                        Look it up

Yes, well I had no idea who that ref was or anything but remember clearly the way he acted in the ND/NOVA game on Feb 18th, mainly b/c I had cash on Notre Dame so you can see why I was getting upset lol.

And then yes Fidel I watched that clip, and couldn't believe it was the same dude! That old mofo!

If anyone reading this knows exactly where to find NCAA refs basketball assignments then please share the info.

                            Here's another good read :

A study by two professors has found that college basketball referees favor the home team and tend to do what they can to keep foul counts close.
