i lived in mississippi at one point in my life (i don't recommend this) and valley state was the closest university to where i lived. an academia mecca it is not. although surprisingly, jerry rice went to college there and still owns a home in mississippi.
the delta devils have played an extremely tough non conference schedule this season by any standards (ND, UNC, WISC, FLA, among others) and this has translated to their play in the SWAC. they are 16-0 in conference play, and have not lost since dec 31st.
i understand the arguments that this may be a let down game against a weak conf foe (jsu is 5-10) but i don't buy them with this game being broadcast on espnu and the chance at an undefeated regular season conference title on the line. i feel that the devils continue to roll in their televised appearance on their quest to go unbeaten in the SWAC
