it's a high-profile game with lots of people watching. if there were a fix, guy could lose any shot he has at NBA, like the kid from Arizona State in the 90s (and if guys are fixing games, there are rumors about it). a much more likely explanation (than point-shaving) is that the game was won and he was showing off and did something silly and lost the ball, in part because of the high profile of the game and the scouts in the stands. that's not the optimal way to shave points anyway. the way to do it is to let a guy score on you or commit dumb fouls to give extra FTs. just because something happens late that affects the spread or total doesn't mean that the fix was in.
