MB's College Hoops 2011-12

For those of you who have been around, you know I keep a pretty solid college hoops thread.

In fact, I still have my college hoop blogs on MySbr to verify my records.

2 years ago, I went 32-11 (74%) , and last year I went 29-13 (69%).

Why wait until now?

Conference play.

By now the dust has settled and you can get a strong angle on teams.

I play roughly 1-2 plays per night, never more than that. Often just one.

Tonight it is Notre Dame -3 1st half only v. South Florida.

It was close. Too close for comfort. ND opened up an 8 point lead, 26-18---but let USF claw back to 26-24.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good---this was one of those.

I'm not a fan of road favorites in 1st half selections, but tonight's selection I can't pass up.

well done again martin! my book doesnt offer that many first half plays, do you suggest your picks for the entire game?ive noticed they have all done well so far. just a lil insight to why u do first halves only would be nice. thanks man. keep gettin it!

Guys, I don't have a number yet, but I am leaning Connecticut 1st half tomorrow, early at ND.

That may change if the number comes out wacky, but I am thinking it comes in at Connecticut -2. Anything under a basket, and I am taking it.

Bryan, time to change books my friend. 5Dimes, Bookmaker---Both offer solid 1st half lines.

Anyway. Here's why I lean 1st half numbers-----

The end of the game is too unpredictable-----especially if the number falls in the 5-8 range---you have teams fouling intentionally----for example, a game comes out where the number is say, 4-6---and it is a close game, and you have the Team B and the 4 points---they are down 3 with a minute to go----they start fouling on one end, and chucking 3's on the other---suddenly that 3 point game becomes a 7 point loss.

And it can happen on the other side too----

The first half is played to the whistle, no fouling.

Make any sense?

Yea makes tons of since. i got all my chips on bovada. im an 80 percent poker 20 percent sports kinda guy. but as of lately its been more like 60/40. do the books u suggest have a descent payout system? cuz as off lately its been quite the hassle to get your money off of bovada. not sure if your familiar but recently bodog has become bovada and its going straight down the toilet, for poker atleast. not sure how it compares to other books because its the only one ive ever used. im gonna check into the ones you suggested.
